I watched the replay last night. A few things:
Liverpool played very sloppy. Suarez, Kuyt, Downing and Enrique all gave up the ball cheaply.
Liverpool had 2 really good chances created. The cross from Downing to Kuyt and the cross from Downing to Henderson.
Enrique and Kelly were the best 2 Liverpool players on the pitch. Kelly absolutely shut Ashley Young down. Enrique got forward really well, but almost gave United a goal (when Park stole it from Enrique and then shot wide).
We need a striker. We have no target man.
Downing needs to be moved to the right.
All of the useless crosses need to stop. Especially from Downing and Enrique.
Charlie Adam looked better. His defensive work rate still needs to improve. When Gerrard goes forward, Chuck has to stay back (and vice versa). There were a couple times when Adam didn't fill Gerrard's defensive role when he went forward and it left Liverpool wide open on the counter.

I pretty much agree with the sentiment here... However, if our finishing was better we should have a couple more. Suarez should have absolutely finished that chance in the first half.
It was always going to be hard to score with the lineup Slur Alex put out there...
We need someone to partner Suarez up front (I still think Carroll will come good), someone who is ready to step up right away, not a project...
One bright spot is that Henderson looked good while he was on the pitch...

The Steven Gerrard chant at the end gave me absolute chills.
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
He'll pass the ball 40 yards
He's big and he's fricking hard
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
I still haven't had a chance to go back and watch it again sober, hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

I have it dvr'd so I can curse the mancs, rewind, and curse them again.
As far as tomorrow night bhoy, I don't think we'll see much from the guys that played the full 90' Sat...probably a lot of Bellamy, Carroll, Spearing, Henderson, etc with a few reserves sprinkled in. Hell, we may get a little Doni action in goal.

Posted this in the Evra thread, but it might have flown under the radar. Too funny to me not to share with others.

i've decided to become a pool fan. it was between them and chelsea. i've watched most of the games for both so far, and enjoy the pool games much more. and the passion that the fans show, which the team plays off of, is second to none. i'm pumped i finally found my team.
to celebrate, i bought me a pair of these since they were so cheap. i needed some kind of liverpool gear
now i just need to save up some cash for an adam jersey. hopefully he's with the team for awhile

Welcome to the dark side.

Textbook example: Champions League final 2005. Inspired the boys to come from 3 goals down to tie it up and win in penalties. Greatest European final in the history of football.

Good to hear man. Come to Finns if you're anywhere around the New Orleans area. We usually have a pretty good crowd watching the games on Sundays. And Glass is always there spending his money on ruining our livers, which is another plus.

i started semi-following the premier league back in like '05-06 b/c i started playing fifa a lot. like many others, played with chelsea b/c drogba basically scored from anywhere. i followed them pretty much b/c of him.
but this season, i decided to give it a real shot, and let the play of the teams dictate my team i would choose. i was leaning towards pool after the first 2 games, but just wanted to make sure. now i'm pissed that i even considered chelski.

thanks man, i plan on it. never really watched soccer with true fans b/c none of my friends really enjoy watching as much as i do. and i'm always down for some pre-lunch beers
