Johnson, if he's 100% healthy. I dont want him to be rushed back, because thats how he got re-injured last time.
That being said, I heard Kelly was sent back to Melwood from the England squad because of an injury...not sure what though...
So Skrtel or Flanagan?

Johnson doesn't sound too confident he'll start

just groin tightness
according to the link, he played the full 90' in the u-21 qualifier and then came home as a precautionary measure.

Been pretty out of it lately guys, sorry about that. School and LSU football are too big of a distraction. You can bet I'll be at the bar this weekend for the Northwest Derby. All of you better be there too considering LSU plays away.

I wouldn't miss it for the world. And you're right, it's the perfect time for people from BR to come down cause we'll no doubt be outnumbered by the glory chasing mancs. And for those who can't make it...ESPN 2 6:30 am CST. Come on you Reds!!

Some potentially big news buzzing on Twitter
LFC want to break away from the EPL's foreign TV deals... Ian Ayre says we should be able to negotiate our own (to stay competitive w/big clubs in Europe), similar to Barcelona and Real Madrid

While I would LOVE to have the global income of Barca, Real, or even United, I don't see how a decrease in parity throughout the BPL could be a good thing for any individual club. There is already too great a divide between the big 4 (now 5) and most of the other clubs, imo. I don't know the solution to keeping up with the major clubs in Europe who have different means of income, but I don't think this is it.

I havent given it much thought, but I understand splitting the revenue on domestic television. There are a lot of people in the UK that want to see Bolton, Wolves, Man City etc...
But I dunno... Ayre has a point when he mentions outside of the big 5/6... How many people are really wanting to watch the other teams. It is already a case of the have and have nots in the EPL, those other 15 or so are NOT going to win it...

there is no reason for these teams to not be controlling their own TV rights.

And we certainly don't want to widen that gap.

I completely disagree. The current situation is the best for the league as a whole IMO.

the league as the whole means nothing. It's about the teams. This is nothing like American sports. These aren't franchises. They are individual entities that have their own rules and goals.
So what if Liverpool, United, Arsenal, City, and Chelsea decided to go out and negotiate their own tv deals? They jump even farther past the EPL into a stratosphere all their own?
There's other teams that already exist in that stratosphere (Real, Barca...etc). This would probably help create a European super league which would be frickin awesome.
Mainly this is all about FIFA getting its head out of its arse and making smart decisions that benefit EVERYONE. Right now they frick over the biggest teams, and eventually they're gonna fight back.

For who? For the leagues, the EPL, la Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A? These leagues are experiencing greater success and popularity than at any other time in history because of the current tv deals. Take away their top clubs and they have the global marketability of the MLS.
For clubs with great history but less global support like Ajax, Porto, Valencia, Juventus, Marseille, Galatasaray, etc.? If the 10-12 most popular European clubs get to hoard the majority of the worldwide television revenue and a super league is developed, the next 20-30 clubs who can't make as much on these lucrative tv deals become marginalized. Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I don't want to see a lot of those teams relegated to afterthoughts.
For fans of the game itself? What happens to the Arsenal-Tottenham rivalry when Arsenal joins this super league and Spurs can't? What about Lazio-Roma? Barca-Espanyol? Liverpool-Everton? Porto-Benfica? The history and passion entrenched in these derbies is significant far beyond developing an all-star league. And it's downright insulting to expect fans of these top clubs to abandon their lifelong pursuits of domestic cups and league championships for a commercially fabricated trophy. Sorry, but the leagues and football associations do matter and this separatist elitism that some of these clubs are striving for isn't good for anybody.

Barcelona and Real Madrid bothnnegotiate theirnown TV deals and there still is La Liga.... If the top clubs in the EPL did the same, I not think I'd have an issue. Most clubs out of the top 5' just want to stay up and/or win a domestic cup
Until all the leagues play by the same rules, we need to keep competitive in Europe.

You mean the same La Liga that didn't start on time this season because the players went on strike due to lack of payment? Aside from Barca, Real, and maybe 2 or 3 other top Spanish clubs which have a large international following, the other clubs in that league continued buying players and going deeper in debt to the point where they couldn't even write paychecks. This business model simply doesn't work. Instead of trying to copy Barca and Real, we should be pressuring FIFA and UEFA to enforce financial fairplay and implement profit sharing across the board.

That would be their issue, not LFC's
I understand your point (its valid), dont get me wrong... But I'm all for exploring other avenues of revenue and TV may be the golden egg....
anyway, seems like a moot point, in that it doesnt appear they would get enough votes to make this happen. Man City has already come out against it (in their best interest, unlimited $ and prob not much of an international fanbase to negotiate anything substantial).
