This supposed to be the most traveled Everton away match ever. Reports of 15K could happen. Everton fans in the home section etc.

Supposedly last night after the EFC fans were attacked, police showed up and just started gassing everyone, including the Everton fans who were injured, families, etc.
Even the locals working at the pubs said it was ridiculous and that the police just wouldn't be reasoned with.

From reading a few accounts it does seem there were a handful (out of several thousand) EFC fans who set off a couple flares and perhaps a few who bowed up to a plain clothes cop without recognizing who he was (he was arresting an Everton supporter).
Either way, still seems a bit much.
