Lets talk USMNT right back

This news of Dolo's third knee surgery in less than a year has me greatly depressed. There was already little chance that he would be with the team in Brazil, now that's all but gone. So who do we trot out there next month and for the immediate future?

Do we stick with Brad Evans?

Hope that Timmy Chandler finally starts to give a shite about Jurgen and the USMNT?

Geoff Cameron?

Those seem to be the only three options at this point.

I keep hoping Timmy Chandler will stop flaking out but that is looking increasingly unlikely. Lichaj seems like the obvious answer. but I honestly haven't watched enough of him to frame an opinion either way. Considering that right back is his natural position, I guess I would take him over Brad Evans.

I don't know if he is a legitimate option but I love watching Deandre Yedlin in Seattle. He has all the athletic ability in defense and creativity down the flank. However, he seems to get out of position at times and is kind of small. Def my favorite young player right now.

For whatever reason, Jurgen doesn't like him. I thought for sure he would get called up for the Bosnia friendly simply because it meant a bunch of european-based players would get the call (frick, even Tim Ream got called in), but Lichaj was left off.

Doubt he gets a call up now.

It sucks because, not that long ago, he looked to be the future at left back after a good Gold Cup.

What's the story with Chandler? Isn't he cap tied to the US?

Yep, but it has become evidently clear that the only reason he begrudgingly accepted a WCQ cap with us is because Germany told him they have no plans for him. I don't think he has an ounce of American pride in him.

When all that shite hit the fan after the Honduras loss and a couple of anonymous players complained about the Germans, I have a feeling that it was pointed towards him.

Of the Germans that were called into the Honduras WCQ team, Chandler is the only one that has since not been invited back.

That is a lot of speculation there, bro.

Lichaj is our answer at right back.

Give Yedlin some time to develop.

That's just as much speculation, if not more.

At times? Against tougher competition in the U20 WC, he was out of position just about every time. He is very talented and certainly makes me optimistic of the future but he is not an option right now

Yeah, Yedlin is great going forward, but he is all over the place defensively.

He's a younger Edgar Castillo, with a shittier haircut.... at least right now.

I'm guessing Timmy Chandler will want to play in the World Cup. Can he do enough to earn a spot? We will see.

I want to see how Cameron does with Stoke.
