Yeah if he doesn’t start it would have to be Shack and he hasn’t played in the midfield since the first half of the Forest game.

Also Donnohue picking up the slack in Phil and Popey’s absence:
Likely no other additions before Sunday.
Looking for the right deal at CB.
Retaining Gnonto, Sinisterra, Adams, and Harrison would be a success but prepared to make signings if any of them leave.

I think they still need depth in the midfield and striker even if they manage to keep all of them.

Espn+ will show plenty of games. LUTV shows the rest that aren’t gonna be broadcast nationally over there by Sky. I usually just by random match passes. I already have an espn+ sub and i kept it even after promotion because it’s nice to have for college football and basketball season and they usually have the SEC ALT games during baseball season

Yea even today if Adams and Harrison were fit I’d still want a midfielder and another striker that can play up top

Yeah seems a gamble to rely on the young guys at striker going into the year, and counting on getting anything from Bamford and his ginger snap legs is way to big a risk.

Just get someone in with experience that can be reliable, doesn’t need to be a major boon or anything.

Looks like it’s a 24 hour delay on LUTV with the subscription? That sucks and going to be a problem.. but if you pay per game you can watch Live but it’ll be more expensive?

For ESPN - you’re essentially paying a subscription to maybe watch one game a month. Thats terrible too haha.

There was a report that one of the reasons they could be slow in adding guys is they are waiting on premier league teams getting back into preseason and sorting out their sides.

To see who could be available for loan or buy I assume.

I have ESPN+ and subscribed to LUTV monthly. If they don’t have the Birmingham or Ipswich matches live I’ll just cancel at the end of the month.

I saw this too but in googling it seems like it may be live over here and delayed in England because of their TV rights. That’s why I’m going to give it a shot for the non ESPN games in August.

The square ball article on Wober is killing me

quote:

So it’s not surprising that Wöber has said goodbye to a bunch of fellow losers taking advantage of the exit clauses in their contracts, checked the smallprint of his own deal after hearing of interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach, and told Leeds he won’t be hanging around in the Championship either. He only has one career, so he has the right to decide what’s best for it. I only support one football club, so I have the right to think he’s a shitebag.

quote:

While Wöber was preparing to make his debut as a substitute with Leeds 2-0 down in the FA Cup at Cardiff, Marsch, in his own words, “told him he was going in at centre-back, then left-back, then centre-back, then left-back — I probably changed my mind six times because I wanted him to have a good start and put him somewhere that he was most comfortable, which is probably centre-back. But I also know that he can be impactful at left-back in a big way.”

After all that, the king of clarity brought Wöber on in central midfield. This blog isn’t about Marsch, but honest to fricking god, how did that clown keep his job for so long?

quote:

During those initial appearances he played with a calm authority the defence so sorely lacked, telling Robin Koch who to mark, blocking shots before they reached Illan Meslier, and briefly achieving the previously impossible feat of making Junior Firpo look like a left-back.

quote:

Wöber’s early appeal was that he’s a fairly bog-standard, boring, sensible centre-half, so it’s hard to pick out a particular highlight. Seeing off Diego Llorente, I guess, although in years to come I’ll probably look back on Diego’s sheer insanity with more fondness.

quote:

Sam Allardyce spent the week leading up to Newcastle’s visit to Elland Road telling his players to stay on their feet and not dive into tackles. After a bright start in which Bill Ayling put Leeds a goal up, the atmosphere was sucked out of the ground by Pat Bamford’s penalty miss followed by Wöber diving into a tackle to concede the most predictable penalty a minute later.

To be fair to Max, I could barely get through Allardyce’s pressers without zoning out for the sake of my own sanity, so I almost admire him for not listening to a word he said.

quote:

Would Leeds have lost 5-1 and 6-1 in back to back games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool with Wöber in the team? I’m going to say no. It might’ve only been 3-1 and 4-1.

He really caught his keeper leaning one way, brilliant stuff

Sweet own goal

I missed the first few minutes of Farke’s press conference but I’m pretty sure I heard him say they only had 16 players in training earlier today. That means on top of the strikers, Tyler, Jack, Dallas, and Greenwood there must be others out.

ETA: Catching up on some of the recaps and we appear to be fukt. Bamford out until at least the international break, Rutter out at least another week, Joseph out 3-4 weeks.

Yeah he did say only 16, holy shite that’s a lean number.

They undoubtedly will have to bring some folks in over the next few weeks just to have enough bodies.

Sounds like Pat and Joseph out until after the international break as well.

Guess this means we get to see Dan James back in his natural 9 role this weekend
