That's fair. I don't think there would be a consensus anywhere but I am a bit surprised to hear so many English fans would see going down to the Championship for a few years as so devastating.
There was actually a survey posed on a large Italian Roma website when the club was for sale that asked a similar question.
Something like
1) Oil baron owners who buy superstars and win a championship but pull out leaving the club in even more desperate straits, or
2) steady ownership that sells a couple of top players every year to balance books but keeps the club in the top 8 or so
Oil Barons got like 75% of the vote
Perhaps tellingly, the English language version of the site ran the same poll with the exact opposite results. I think though foreign fans were just more scared of the idea of trying to find illegal streams for Serie C

The whole point of FFP is to PREVENT that from happening to other clubs. So no, City have not. But the laws they signed were put into place because actions such as their own were deemed as indicators that a club would be headed down that road.

No, its literally how they act and do things. Of course not all of them do, as not all people in any country act in a single way. But its widespread and prevalent amongst both success clubs fans and unsuccessful clubs fans.

No, its not. You should try visiting England before you form your opinions. Really close to any city and any club will do. Hell you don't even have to go to England. Go to Finn McCools on a Saturday morning and ask the ex pats their opinions. They'll tell you what I just said, to a man.

I have always been a casual fan of Roma as my minor at LSU more or less forced me to choose an Italian team. I would be devastated if I had to listen to some Russian commentate on Pjanic's latest feats of magic.

When did you graduate BPG? Totti has been my favorite player since high school, but I started following Roma after my Italian classes at LSU, mostly due to my instructor.

2010, but I took a victory lap for an extra football season. Both my language instructor as well as my literature professor were Roma Fans. Dennis Martinez and Paolo Chirumbolo.

I used to tell him if he failed me on a test I was going to buy a Lazio shirt and wear it every single day of class until the end of the year. I think that one actually worked.

I know! Super personable; he would almost be in tears talking about the White Sox. Then he'd speak glowingly of Roma. Then he would brag about Inter. I gave him shite once and he grabbed my chin and told me to stfu.
