Too bad by the end of this year two of that team's most important players will now be playing for Bayern.
A league keeping their better players within the league is better for the league, yeah, no argument there.

Mario Götze is hurt and hasn't really played much at all. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is really good and Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang has 5 goals. They're doing just fine. Don't buy into the Dortmund narrative that they're a small club who just can't compete.
Lewandowski will probably end up at Bayern but he's not there yet. Dortmund is fine.

If we are talking about most exciting league, I'll just chime in and say, in my opinion, MLS is the most fun/exciting league as a whole to watch. Especially now with the regular season coming to an end and so many teams playing for their playoff lives and also so many teams playing for the Supporters Shield.

The strength of the mid to bottom table of the EPL is vastly overrated by a lot of people that don't watch a lot of other leagues.
The EPL's strength recently is that they have more top clubs in terms of resources through the top 6 (ManU, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham).
After that there's little to no difference between the EPL and other top leagues which is to say, for example, that West Brom or Newcastle are hardly better than Parma or Cagliari.

Ribery is turning 73 in a couple years, Robben hasn't played an entire season in maybe his whole career. Draxler just turned 20 and recently extended his contract, so he's not leaving this summer. Plus it would be hard to put Draxler on the bench even if he was on the team this season.

Doesn't help that the only time bottom feeders from the Bundesliga, Serie A, or La Liga really get any kind of interesting exposure (English language, in America) is when Barcelona or Real Madrid have their yearly eight goal beat-down of a yo-yo club.

Pep would put him in the Bayern lineup no problem if he did come. He does a good job of rotating guys into lineups, which he really has to do considering the amount of talent Munich has on the bench.

But really, this is what people don't get. Bayern aren't talent hoarding, they are preparing for the future. Ribs won't be the same player in a couple of years and Götze is a natural replacement so Bayern went out and got him when they could.
Robben is the exact same story and is hardly healthy to boot, so adding another dynamic midfielder will help going forward. Draxler is not a replacement for Robben, but he will be able to slot immediately into the midfield so that Muller doesn't have to help rotate there.
Lewa is coming in as a top player in the world, it just so happens he plays for a rival. Bayern would be after him if he played for anyone else just the same.

I love the MLS, and hope we see continued improvement until we are one of the top leagues in the world.
But...
The talent and overall level of play just isn't there. Parity only takes you so far.
