More of what he said:

quote:

"You can as an individual player to draw attention to yourself when you're not playing at an absolute top club in Europe. But if you want to achieve the great goals that a world class player happens to have, it is one of them, that you are playing at the biggest clubs in the world."

"I owe a lot Schalke, I was always Schalke. The need to emphasize. But I'm not so rooted that I could not tear ourselves away myself. I honestly say that it is my dream to play at times one of the big clubs."

He listed all of these clubs as "big clubs"

quote:

"The big two in Spain, Real and Barcelona, ??Bayern and a few others from England, namely Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea."

Come again, hendo? A zero team league?

I like the Bundesliga but I hate how Bayern now have a monopoly on all the top talent. When the two next competitive teams inevitably lose their best players to one team in the league... well that's kind of a bummer for intra league competition, no?

That makes no sense at all. It's far more competitive than the other major leagues, although Italy has stepped up its game in terms of competition this year.

It's competitive because none of the teams are any good.

Top to bottom its the best league in the world by a mile.

As for Draxler, what he says is true, however I dont think Bayern would be a smart move for him. Playing for the best team in the world and destroying your domestic league is fun I'm sure, but is it fun when you are on the bench for the important games?

Plus Munich > Gelsenkirchen

The kid wants to stay home and be a superstar. Bayern is a natural fit.

I think this is a slight exaggeration. We will see as the CL pans out.

That said, I still find the EPL to be the most entertaining league.

Agreed. None of the teams this year in the EPL is going to sniff the champions league final let alone winning it. The big 6 it seems are weaker than the top teams in the other top leagues.

Swansea just skull fricked Valencia in Valencia
Arsenal beat Napoli
United beat Leverkusen

So far this year EPL teams are 3-1 against Spain/Italy/Germany
Only Bayern beating City - a destruction admittedly - id EPL loss in either CL or Europa to other big league, and after the next round of CL I expect them to be 5-1.

The top 2 in Germany and Spain are better than EPL, but EPL has depth they dream of.

How? Nearly every EPL game I watch is boring. Arsenal is usually entertaining and sometimes Liverpool.

I thought we dispelled this myth last season in the champions league final? No? I guess old truths die hard. BVB poaches the leagues talent. Bayern bought their "best" player this summer, but it's not like no one else put a bid in for him. In fact, many teams put a bid in for him. They are also only 1 point back from the top of the table and only relinquished that lead last match day, so I'm not sure how much that hurt them anyway as they bought good players with the money. Currently Bayern has bought 5 of their players from other teams in the league. 2 of which were wanted by all the big clubs. One was DVB way back in 06, the other Dante and Mandzukic. Quite a destruction you are right.

That Bayern steal all of their players. They have one person from Dortmund zero from Leverkusen. The next two best clubs in the league.

I wasn't referring to that, really. I'm just saying that if Bayern has the power to pilfer top talent and succeed in getting Draxler, Gotze, Lewa, etc, then I think that's bad for the league as a whole, especially in attracting fans of other leagues.

Bad for the league as opposed to being sold abroad? Can't agree there.
