ehhhh..

If we're doing the full Jones/Cameron debate. IMO

Attacking - Jones
Defense - Push
Athleticism - Jones
Experience - Jones
Club Form - Jones

I think Jurgen is going moreso on results/form than sentimental perspective.

How about chemistry, restraint on being carded, not coming back from an injury, long balls, aerial ability?

I mean, Jones was probably our best player the four matches leading up to his injury. not sure what's funny about my post.

Jones isn't bad for chemistry and is an above average passer. It was kind of en vogue to hate on him here but he's a good player, better than Cameron at CM and I don't think it's debatable

And the too-many-cards myth perpetuates. The only reason Cameron MIGHT be a better choice than Jones for the US is because he may be a better compliment in CM to our best player, Bradley.

Last time jones got a card they threw up a graphic that it was his first in like 4 or 5 games for us. I know that sounds crazy, but the card thing is overblown.

Klinnsman just basically said Jones is starting. That should end this.

This is what I meant by chemistry.

And are you all blind? Jones throws an elbow every other match. Yeah sometimes the ref misses it, you're right

Ends the lineup for Honduras, but not who is the better partner with MB. Yes Jones is better on the attack than Cameron, but MB is much better than Jones. When Cameron played MB was allowed to attack and it should have netted at least 2 more goals. As to Jones playing for Schallke and Cameron playing for Stoke, it is more an issue of Cameron being played out of position than him not being worthy. I bet new coach will play him at DM.

Jermaine Jones needs to understand his role better. Jones is a Klinsmann favorite, but Michael Bradley is the central midfielder the U.S. needs to build around, not Jones. The German-American spent too much of the game not allowing Bradley to be Bradley. What do I mean by that? Too often Bradley has to read what Jones is doing and base his movements and actions off that. It should more often be the other way around, with Jones deferring to Bradley. Geoff Cameron seemed to understand that better in last week’s win against Panama, sometimes dropping deep and consistently playing off what Bradley was doing. What’s more, because Jones so readily draws yellow cards, as he did Tuesday, he becomes a game-long risk of being sent off for a second. (Honduras was clearly trying to bait him into one.) Cameron only played one and one half games next to Bradley in the central midfield, but he was an upgrade on Jones during that time.
