Hoping that NBC puts some games on the main NBC on Saturday mid day leading into the notre dame games etc. That would be great.

I think Johnson will get better with time. Under the impression he doesn't understand soccer very well yet. Needs to be carried by a good analyst which they seem to have so far.

Warren Barton might be the worst color commentator in his sport. He bring absolutely nothing the viewer doesn't know or understand. I think this has been the biggest issue with Gus learning the game as he calls it. He doesn't have anyone who can explain thing in depth enough, in order for him to take a break from his play-by-play duties. I didn't get to hear Ian Wright's commentary from yesterday, but anything is better than Barton.

Sample exchange:

Johnson: Real Madrid's defense looking a bit nervous right now, Warren.

Barton: Yeah. Madrid needs to defend better or United is going to score.

BRILLIANT EXCHANGE

Then Barton will proceed to criticize every Madrid player for not being tough, or skilled, or English enough to beat "Insert English Team."

I don't know, they guy that FSC had doing the CONCACAF Champions League last season was absolutely dreadful. I'm not sure if they have the same guy this season or not.

Mostly fast forwarded through the Champions League games to get the highlights/goals, but the anaylst seemed decent enough to me with that brief exposure. Don't know if that was Barton or not, but I've been conditioned in the EPL to think that anyone with Barton as a last name isn't worth listening to, so I must not have known it.

This past weekends FA Game I watched more than half of. He essentially stated exactly what would happen just before a free kick goal. Did a pretty good job of analyzing and also providing information.

Perhaps they are looking for a team to bring more mainstream excitement for the casual fans tuning in?

Warren Barton is fricking pissed off that Spain wins without a target forward.

It's funny how much he despises it...

it's understandable though since it takes away 75% of his analytical base in criticizing a teams inability to get the ball wide and put in good crosses.
