Anybody can have quick feet if they don't have to worry about controlling the ball. The only person getting embarrassed in that video is Cazorla after his donkey touch and pathetic dive.

Cazorla's clearly in control of the ball. I can't remember if he was in any danger of losing the ball off his left foot, but there isn't a West Brom player around him. Reid isn't even looking at the ball. I'm not saying it's a dangerous play on Reid's part, but he certainly isn't in a good defensive position, and the sweeping motion he is attempting is similar to the scything motion that has caused so many injuries. This is not to say that I'm defending the dive. I'm talking about a measured approach to discussing the dive.
But if Drogba's actions in the first Barca game receive absolutely minimal outrage, then I don't think what Cazorla did was "worse." Like I said, there isn't a good dive. Yet people will consider Cazorla a diver when a player like Drogba would go down with minimal contact. I mean, this is an absolutely egregious dive. So is this. So is this.
Diving is a part of the game, and I doubt anyone will enact a three game ban for dives. It would do a lot to curb the dives, but do you think organizations as toothless as the English FA and UEFA will actually do anything? No.

I've googled but I can't find the name of the player. Surely it would have been talked about more. Anyway, the DFB is far from a "toothless" organization. Look at the way they reorganized their youth system (almost prescient actually) in 2000. The FA in England is a joke compared to the DFB, for a variety of reasons.

Wow that would be quite a punishment.
Serie A has a 2 match ban for diving but it seems to only be enforced for dives that lead directly to PKs and is not enforced if the player is carded for the dive or simply not rewarded a foul during the match.
Even so, it's really cut down tremendously on the obvious dives in the box in Serie A compared to the EPL. Of course, it's hard to judge "going to down to easily" when there is some minimal contact so there have been more successful appeals than bans.
