Catering to the “I’m Italian” guido crowd? The same people that would probably cheer for Italy over the US.

I wonder if that game was scheduled with Luca Koleosho in mind before he got injured.

They did just win the Euros 4 years ago. Not qualifying for the World Cup is embarrassing for them, though.

I think that’s a micro/macro thing. of course winning the euros is awesome, it means(or should mean) that you’re one of the best 4 teams on the planet. alas, they clearly aren’t. and weren’t even the “best” team in that tournament.
