I know most people have written him off already but it seems like there's a good chance he's going to end up playing with the U.S.

"I'm still happy to play for the U.S. national team but right now I want to commit 100 percent to Nurnberg and stay here with the team during this time," Chandler told SBI through a translator. "But in October and until the rest of the year there are enough games for the national team and if [U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann] still wants to invite me, there's still an opportunity I'll play.

What Chandler did reveal, and what likely will be music to U.S. team fans' ears moreso than him saying he is open to being cap-tied in October, is that the German federation has not reached out to him to discuss a potential call-up in the coming months.

Cap tie that tip-toeing German son of a bitch ASAP, Jurgy. Lock that arse down.

Looking good.
I really hope it's Gonzo instead of Edu.

Gooch will be 32 so if he finds form he is still a possibility. Especially if he gets regular minutes in the champions league this season.
Definitely with you on Gonzo > Mo

Please no Mo (pun intended). I don't see what Jurgy or other people see in him.

Edu isn't as bad as people make him out to be on here. He played pretty well at CB against Mexico, all things considered.

How many times have you watched him?

Edu is good enough to be in the 23 man USA roster every time we take the field.
He still gives the ball away all the time, and it's frustrating to watch. He makes up for it by working his arse off defensively though.

tactically he does his job, not going to wow anyone with his play going forward. he's rather bland, but certainly not horrible. would i rather have someone better? without a doubt. not going to complain though.
and i've watched him every time he plays for usmnt, i've never had the chance to watch him play through green glasses, so i couldnt actually tell you how bad he is

This is what he brings to the team, basically.

Much less a starting 11. I will agree he works hard defensively but he's very prone to doing very stupid things at times. With a healthy Bradley, and eventually Holden, I don't think we'll see much of him.

Every time he plays for the USMNT. I don't watch that Scottish garbage. He's a defensive-minded player who doesn't offer anything offensively but is usually a pretty solid and hard-working defender.
Plus he was good enough in Azteca, so if he continues to put in that kind of work, he'll always be in consideration for a spot on the team. Time to get over it, it's not like we have Nemanja Vidic or Thiago Silva back there.

What'd you say?

Edu would be my first choice right now for the CDM position. I would love to see Cameron there but we need him at CB. Edu is good if he keeps it simple : Protect the back 4, make quick simple passes to the attacking players, be an outlet for our defenders to pass to, break up counters, and put in tackles. Basically just sit and let the rest of our guys do their thing offensively especially Bradley. Bradley needs to be allowed to push forward. On a side note I wouldn't mind seeing Danny Williams get a shot at that position. Don't want to see Jermaine Jones there. He is too undisciplined.

Maurice Edu has never and will never come close to Jermaine Jones as a player.
I do not care if he gets yellow cards.

Never said Edu was better than Jones. He isn't. Jones is by far a more well rounded midfielder but when he plays he takes up the places on the pitch that Bradley likes. To me besides Dempsey, Bradley is our second most important outfield player. He may even have a case for the top spot. The point is Edu will do the job Jones won't. Edu more of a CDM. Jones is a box to box type. Edu will sit back and let Bradley be more effective.
