Yes but he is saying that using Edu to screen the back four frees up Jones to go box to box. Probably not a bad strategy when you're playing a difficult away WCQ.

I'd take Chandler if he was actually opened to being capped. Edu is definitely a 23 man guy he should not be in the starting 11 ever. I know it isn't popular to say but I can't see Holden ever getting back to top form with that many injuries and the fact that he is getting older things aren't looking good

On a side note I wouldn't mind seeing Danny Williams get a shot at that position.

I think he's earned it. He put in his time on the outside and it's pretty clear he's not comfortable there.

I think it's funny how this thread started as a Chandler thread and has ended being an Edu discussion. Not complaining, it happens pretty often on here I've noticed.

I mean I think everyone agrees Chandler is a quality young player than we would love to have and need. I'm just not convinced that he is serious in wanting to play for the U.S. even after reading that article. The U.S. is obviously his second choice if he believes he has a chance to play for Germany

I figured he must have been getting looks from the German federation but if they haven't even talked to him then I can't see them having much interest in him. If he wants to get pt in the World Cup the U.S. is his best bet.

Chandler is just as good on the right as Fab is on the left. If he wants to play for the US, we should welcome him back with open arms. I do understand why he'd be hesitant to commit to the US right now, great young player with a long career ahead of him. He's working to establish good will with his employer. Simple as that.

However, I do think at this point, it's pretty obvious he'll play for the USA again.

Probably because he's a German and he thinks he might have a chance of representing the country he's spent his entire life in. Did you notice the interview had to be done through a translator?

I thought Edu was garbage at CB vs. Mexico. I don't mind him at all as a CDM.
