I see the two as synonymous, but I take it by your post you see a difference. I guess what I'm saying is that I think its unrealistic to expect a club to TOTALLY revamp its system 180 degrees, hire a new manager, switch recruiting philosophies, and expect that same team to come off the bat in one of the hardest starting schedules they've had in decades with 3 straight wins.

i'm not a sore loser, as much as i can't stand it that we aren't even competing on the same stage anymore…. again, i know we aren't going to win everything, every year…. but i at least expect us to be in the thick of it every year, with a shot at hardware deep in the season….. right now, that's not happening, and it's frustrating when you look around at the best clubs and see former 'Pool players and think what we COULD have, but for one reason or another, we don't, and likely won't, unless this "youth" pans out….

did i ever say they were? all i'm saying is that we should be trying harder than everyone else, and considering what i've seen from the mangling of the transfer window, to players essentially checking out of games before the final whistle, that's not the case at Anfield right now….

trust me, when we win, i have NO PROBLEM finding a positive in that…. none at all…. it's not like i'm at home begrudgingly celebrating a Liverpool win, unable to find the "good" of a good thing….
but when we are bad, i have a hard time finding the "good" in that…. all i know is the result was bad, and that's all that matters, in the grand scheme…. for instance, to go back to the relegation thing, when it comes time for relegation, it's not like they won't get relegated if they lose, but they played hard, or had better stats than the teams they lost to, etc…. at the end of the day, they still get relegated, if they don't win enough games…. that's my point…

i don't… WBA, should have been a win…. after all, that wasn't the first time they ever played together as a team, and we have more talent than they do…. and a majority of the lineup has played together for a while… that game should have been 3 points in the bag, but it wasn't…. and not only did we not get 3 points, the goal differential ends up killing us down the road i fear…
and to not even look competitive, save the City game, in a majority of the games so far, that's disheartening like nothing else…. i could see if we just simply had a severe lack of talent, or if the coach was a buffoon, or if the other team was head and shoulders better, but that's not the case….

Never say never, but I get what you're saying. I was unpleasantly surprised. That being said, it was our first EPL game, and the penalties were both incredibly soft, as well as the harshness that was Agger's red. The ref played as much a part of that game as anyone.

even this statement, basically summarizes how far apart you (and assume other Liverpool fans here) and I stand on the issue…. to you, these are acceptable reasonings as to why we went down so hard to a team that we shouldn't have…. all i see is excuse, excuse, excuse…. i'm not saying anything about you, but i'm just trying to explain my thought pattern….
i understand about the pens, it was our first EPL game (it was THEIR first too, though…), the refs…. but it just seems like we are constantly, as fans, making up reasons for unpleasant results rather than savoring victory, and that sucks…. i agree about Agger's red though

No new ground is ever able to do that, even after decades. They're just not the same, ever. Shrewsbury is a town I'd love to visit if I ever got the opportunity to visit England. Where's the new Meadow? If it's not actually in the Gay Meadow, they should change the name.
I wish that the mindset of my club would change just a little, but the budget won't allow it, so despite recent consistent success. Now success for Fulham is not what other clubs define as success, but consistent top 12 finishes over the last three years or so, and a Europa League final is really solid and encouraging.
But the Fulham fiscal policy is equally solid, and keeping the club very financially stable, which is important. But losing Dempsey, and Dembele were harsh blows, there has to be a way to maintain that financial stability whilst also keeping our best players at the club to take that next step, up to sixth or fifth.
