If Donovan is hurt, then the door is open. No way he captains (Deuce), if both are healthy. Unless of course, MLS play and form are for some reason taken into account.

Unless the group mental configuration is such (as to a Deuce supremacy), I just see a Donovan captaincy as Zidanesque, when he championed France to that final.

Donovan already said he's not looking to be the centerpiece but just to help out in any way he can and support the team.
