I just thought of Slovenia 2010

And now I'm scared as shite.
Remember, had they beat us in that 2nd game, they are through if not for Bradley's (he never comes up in big moments, so I've heard) late equalizer. They then proceeded to get shut out by England, 1-0 and go home.
frick, frick, frick, frick, frick,
The animosity I have building up for all of the minutes between now and Thursday at 11 a.m. is going to kill me.

Ghana's also had two late frick-ups that have cost them points. They're also missing TPOS Muntari.
We're going through.
We're going through.

We now have to get a result against Germany to ensure advancement. Never ideal and I see Germany and Ghana going through, all because we choked away 2 points at the end of the Portugal match.
Truth be told, Germany and Ghana are probably the two best teams in our group. Looks more and more like the results will bear that out.

Portugal having pretty much nothing to play for does worry me. Even with Muntari out, Ghana will still have a lot of chances to counter against Portugal's shitty midfield.

I'm tired of being the mad American. I'm going to switch to being the cocky American.

Hmmm, definitely not sure about that.

Ronaldo isn't going to go home without getting some goals first

And Portugal will be able to take advantage of Ghana as well. There will be lots of chances in that match. Hopefully Pepe threatens to murder Nani before the match so he's not shite-Nani.
Also, CRon has to try to one-up Messi. With Messi going through, CRon's going to have to try for a goal-fest.
And do you really think our Germericans are going to let the team give up against Germany?

I thought of this yesterday. Not a comforting thought.

This feels more like 2002... just hoping we don't get drummed like we did back then to end group play.

we'll see on Thursday. Just hopeful that JK and Lowe come to a tacit understanding to kick the ball around midfield for 90 minutes and draw the match. Germany still wins the group and we advance. People will bitch, but nothing can be proven and the world deserves it after FIFA refs make a blanket decision to award 5 minutes stoppage time for any team trailing the U.S. after regulation.

US made it to the quarters in 2002.

That's his point, along with the fact Poland kicked our arse in the last group game.

I don't think Portugal is going to bow out easy. I think they could win by a couple goals and hope for Germany to finish the job, which they won't (just like the wars). I have to wonder how many of their starters will return for their final game.

Obviously, I misread that.

I have a feeling if Portugal can get 2 goals against Ghana, then we advance. I know Portugal gets Pepe back, do they get any of their other injured players back?
