dont worry about bandwagon aspect
just watch FoxSoccer and beIN
set matches to record, watch them at your leisure.. spend the rest of this season just watching all you can, and pick whomever you like the most
i didnt even know that Spurs existed 5 years ago.. i didnt watch soccer or care about it either.. the year i began watching soccer, Spurs finished 11th.. the next year, when i 'chose' them as my team, they finished 8th.. but i was still drawn to them
getting Dempsey this year is perhaps a top 5 sports moment for me all time

Yayyy!!! The awesome bandwagon topic again!!!
This is where fans of big clubs try to make themselves feel better about their fandom by labeling every other fan of a half-way decent team bandwagon. I don't know if Liverpool is bandwagon worthy at this point, and I frankly don't care. They surely aren't the trendy club to follow at the moment, but there was a time, and I'm sure there will be another one, when they are/were.
OP if you are a fan of bondage then follow Liverpool.

I wouldn't say 22 years without a domestic title is a bullshite reason.

I don't think we are, but it doesn't matter to me either way. If others pull for Chelsea, Yids, City, etc, fine by me as long as they love their team.
Except for United. They'll always be bandwagon in my heart.

Just pick a team and stick with it is the main thing. Doesn't matter if it's Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Swansea, Norwich, Southampton, Leeds, Crystal Palace, Northampton, York City, Chester...just find which one you like best after watching them and stay there. Don't jump to the flavor of the week constantly.

I agree for the most part, but I hate to see anyone who is just starting out pick a team who is most likely to win the league the year he picks them. That's more "bandwagon" than most of the predesignated teams.
Posted on 10/23/12 at 4:14 pm to Jumbeauxlaya
As long as he/she sticks with that team and doesn't jump, I don't care who they want to follow. A new American soccer fan is a new American soccer fan.

I mean it's better than being a baseball douche or a football only snob yeah, but if he's already decided to choose a team it would be the worst option is what I'm saying

Its been miserable as hell at times sticking with Pool, but I'm not going anywhere. Even if I have to start Posting is S's championship match day thread!

So, by that logic, the best choices are Reading or Southampton.
Face it, any team that's winning/used to win has "bandwagon" potential. And very few people are going to hitch up with the Readings and the Southamptons of the world.
Teams that are easiest to follow (on TV the most) are top-half teams.

I personally don't buy this, but whatever. The term "bandwagon" is bullshite anyway, and I think it's a pretty lame insult. It's human nature to want to win, or want to pull for something to win. If someone picks City or Chelsea or Barca because they want to enjoy what they watch, I have absolutely no problem with that.

I chose Liverpool because they were awesome at FIFA 05, and someone showed me a video of Steven Gerrard's top 10 goals (at the time).
I did some research into the city of Liverpool, the tradition of the club, and the passion of the fans.
Easy choice.

I'm still annoyed that people call Liverpool and Arsenal bandwagon. I've never seen Arsenal win anything in my time as a fan.

total number of players you would fellate in the starting 11.
