Man is a beast.

Guzan has been in great form for Villa all season. They would be in even more trouble if it wasn't for him. Great for us to be able to have a backup of his quality

Hopefully he gets to play a good amount for the U.S. once Timmy retires. He's six years younger so he definitely should. True team player since he's sat behind Howard for years and when he finally gets his chance he makes the most of it.

Guzan played exceptionally well. Basing it on last night's performance and how well he's played at Villa this season, he's equal to Howard. Howard has some serious competition roling into 2014.
The player who isn't getting enough attention is Geoff Cameron, he's been an absolute beast at RB the past two games. Mark him down as my first choice right back, end of story. The question now becomes; do you leave Chandler, who is an exception athlete, on the bench, or do you push him up to RW?

Johnson - Besler - Gonzo - Cameron
That's an inexperienced pair of CBs, but they deserve the nod as long as they continue to play like they did last night. Really, really impressed with the two new boys.

Besler had a good game but let's not annoint him starting CB just yet. Ideally with everyone available Gonzo and Cam are in the middle with either Dolo or Chandler at RB with Landon at RW.

agreed, Chandler is too athletic/fast and too good going forward to leave on the bench. Zusi has played admirably, but he lacks pace in the attack.
I see no sense in pushing Cameron back to the middle, when he's not playing there for Stoke. Especially, after he just put in the best RB performance I've seen from a USA player since Cherundolo in the Confederations Cup.

Sure, Azteca is intimidating. But the pitch was perfect and so was the weather, despite being in the stratosphere.

Not saying Cameron hasn't impressed me (which he has), but this statement is stretching it a bit. 85% of Mexico's attack was focused on a yellow-carded Beasley on the left.

1) Our backline, when everyone is healthy, should be Dolo, Cameron, Gonzales, Fab.
2) Yeah, Guzan has played great these last two games with Villa, he is without a doubt a top-notch keeper. But how soon people forget the performances Howard has turned in vs. England, Algeria, Italy, France, Canada, Mexico...and that's just in the past 4 years.
Howard is ELITE in goal.

Spector played well the next game too. He had a lovely turn and shot that should have either been a penalty or a goal against Sunderland the next game. Anton Ferdinand bowled Spector over, but Spector still got the shot away.

Guzan is still frightening when the ball is in the air.
I did feel like his long balls (

Howard is usually good for one bad play each match as well. His usually result in a goal, though. Time will tell with Guzan.
