I think he gets 2-3. I think he gets a pass with the transfer ban, then a couple of windows to improve, if he doesn’t then out at or before the end of 3. That’s roughly equivalent to forever in Chelsea years.

Garry Monk to derby

The Leeds/Swansea/Chelsea services continue to be thanked.

I'm admittedly not a soccer historian, but how often do former players succeed coaching their club? It just seems like a situation where you "can't go home again". I know Zidane did great at Real, but this just seems like an inevitable, awkward divorce situation.

How many teams have former players like zizou or lamps turned manager? He will always be a blue, just might not always get to coach them. He knows what he’s signing up for.

I love Sarri essentially getting his dream job because Chelsea basically tells every manager to frick off the moment they sign their contract.

A whole lot.

Solskaer (United), Simeone (Athletico), Pep (Barca), Conte (Juve), Shearer (Newcastle), Henry (Monaco), Kompany (Anderlecht), Gattuso (Milan), Kovac (Bayern), Valverde (Barca), Lopetegui (Madrid), Inzaghi (Lazio)

Only one man can ever replace Bielsa

I was gonna say that seems way too reasonable, and level-headed.

But I do think the transfer ban, and playing youth might garner some patience...maybe.

Before the end of year one. I love that people think Chelsea will suddenly tolerate subpar results. The fans will melt when we're in 8th in February.

This does seem much more likely.

We replace the manager. No big deal, used to that.

We lose hazard. Really big deal.

We can’t replace hazard until after a two window transfer ban. Also a really big deal.

That’s a perfect storm if I’ve ever seen one. If Roman can’t pump the brakes after all that nobody is going to ever want to rent a place on our sidelines again.

Frank wont lose the fan support this season, as long as he doesnt do something stupid like playing Kante as an attacking mid.

all the pressure will be on Roman and the board for losing Hazard, making poor players sales, and not applying to freeze the ban.

and if Roman was as trigger happy as in the past, Conte doesnt make it past xmas in his last year, and Sarri doesnt make it out of xmas this past year.
