Regardless of whether or not Gulati decides to keep Klinsmann, I don't think we're in trouble...yet. Here are the current standings:
Team - W - D - L - Pts
Costa Rica - 2 - 0 - 0 - 6
Mexico - 1 - 1 - 0 - 4
Panama - 1 - 1 - 0 - 4
Honduras - 1 - 0 - 1 - 3
T&T - 0 - 0 - 2 - 0
USA - 0 - 0 - 2 - 0
Looking back at past four hexes, the 5th place team's point total was 8-11-8-8 and the 4th place team's was 14-13-16-11. If you take out the away fixture with Mexico, the other seven games are very winnable.
We would need to win four to be safely in 4th and five to be safely in 3rd (calling 2010 an anomaly). This does eliminate the margin for error with our home matches - we can't afford to drop points in any without a corresponding win on the road.

We have an easy stretch coming up in March, but we HAVE to get three points in ever game up until we head to Azteca.

It's really really hard to not finish in the top 4. Look how bad Mexico was for that long stretch last cycle and they still finished 4th. Barely I know.
