Has an interest in soccer dimmed your interest in the NFL?

I've noticed this year I really don't care that much about the saints or the nfl in general... I still love watching LSU but... Meh?

Might have something to do with the suspension/Goodell/replacement refs problems I suppose, but I think a lot of it is the excessive commercial breaks and slow play compared to a constant 45 minutes

happened to me a few years ago. still hope the saints win and also keep an eye on the texans but LSU football will always be number 1. i think saturday coming before sunday kinda has something to do with it as well.

i play fantasy football so i still follow the nfl but not with the same passion in the sense of following a team's every move and such.

the mettstache will have things under control IMHO.

Yep. I used to watch all the NFL I could get. Now I pretty much just watch my team (Titans) and follow the rest of the league just enough for fantasy purposes. Otherwise, meh. If I wanted to watch commercials that bad, I'd tune in to network sitcoms...

Same for me minus the texans part. I do still watch the saints every Sunday and LSU football will always be king for me but other than that I watch much less NFL than I did before I started following the EPL in 2007.

Definitely. Still watch all Saints games and follow for my fantasy team, but don't care other than that. I used to know virtually every player on every team

Fo sho. I watch the Bengals and follow fantasy but not as much as I used to do. I used to get really pumped for Fantasy football, but now it seems more of a hassle to me.

Fantasy football killed watching games for me... I usually just watch something else and follow my teams scores online

I've always hated the NFL, but since I've started following the EPL last year and MLS this year, I've watch a lot less college football.

Pretty much. I can't stand to watch any American football unless its recorded LSU football were I can fastforward through the 4 hours of commercials, or NFL RedZone where there are no commercials! I just can't sit and watch a stop and go sporting event for half my afternoon.

ETA: also college football outside of LSU in fastforward mode is basically unwatchable. I don't find blowouts to be entertaining at all.

Only the Saints and what does it say that I left Finn's in the 3rd quarter? I didn't even watch the Super Bowl last year. Boring as frick.

I still watch the Saints but I don't keep up with all the Saints news as closely as I used to. I still keep up with them a good bit, though. The main thing keeping my interest in the rest of the league is fantasy football and the NFL Red Zone channel.

I'm not sure how much of this is because of soccer, though.

Me too. And a flag just got called on #89 for the Saints and my first thought was, "We have an 89?"

Part of my decline has been to hockey as well.

I think the Saints being freaking terrible now hasn't helped.

fantasy football killed the NFL for me in a different way: I hate fantasy football bc of the way people constantly evaluate the game on individual levels rather than it being a tribal team thing, the way it used to be. there was way more pride when all you cared intensely about your one group of guys. now I'm loathe to steer watercooler convos to the NFL because it inevitably ends up being an enumeration of single player statistics and people's places in their fantasy league. like i give a frick. it's all about them SOINTS

this terrible season is returning me to the gilded memories of childhood where everything was care free, we had no responsibilities, and the saints were god awful.

My Scottish friend introduced me to Red Zone. It's awesome.

Red zone is a 21st century invention that ranks up there with a great steak, BJs, or a nice monster dump that you want to take cell phone pics of and brag to your friends about (everyone else does that too right?)
