Coates blew out his knee and just started playing again a month or two ago back in Uruguay at Nacional

Wrong. Absolutely, 100% wrong.
What sport have you been watching? You think the ref is just going to award a free goal for a hold that has no effect on the play?
You are delusional. There are plenty of fouls that go uncalled in the box for that very reason.

Yeah, that keeper had to time that leap perfectly to punch that ball away. Great save.

Uruguay will tire in the second half. With their shirts constricting their lungs, Costa Rica may have a chance yet.

Sorry I'm late on this one guys...
Official redwolfsteamroller prediction:
Los ticos turn it on in the second half, Costa Rica rolls 3-1.

I ask you the same question.

I've seen it happen. FFS, it happened in the Gold Cup not too long ago against the US.
It happened a few times in the EPL this season as well.

He's just here to show us he is futbol expert

The only thing that matters is what the referee called. He called a foul. You don't agree. We heard you the first 17 times. Get off it already.

That shot took a serious deflection

Uruguay just lack any kind of creativity from their midfield...

He was able to hit it with his hand. Had he not been held to the ground, he may have been able to get it with his head.

He's definitely got potential but despite him being an Arsenal player, I can't bring myself to like him after that ridiculous dive against the US. frick him.

I never said it doesn't happen...Of course it happens, and it is a bad call by the ref when it does. Referees use their discretion all the time in the game and a good ref does not give a team a free goal (PK) over something trivial in most cases.
And after watching the replay, it does look like he may have had a chance to jump and get his head on it had he not been held. So good call by the ref.

It's the same thing that Skrtel gets away with on every set piece and I'm shocked he hasn't been called for it yet..

Is Suarez due back by the end of group play? Uruguay lacks a little firepower without him. Forlan still has an awesome shot, but he doesn't seem to be creating many opportunities by himself.

For better or worse, it's part of the game. You can see it on just about every corner.
