Well maybe social media should chill the frick out. The guy was pretty clearly paying homage to some heroes of his. His costume is goofy as shite, but in no way racist. If he went as himself in a globetrotters uniform you’d still have a bunch of people freaking out on social media that the globetrotters weren’t white guys. People just need to calm the frick down.

Oh come on.

Not to this level, and you know that.

Come on how? There is absolutely nothing inaccurate about that statement.

ETA: It would just be a different group of people getting angry/talking shite but would happen nonetheless.

People wouldn’t be freaking out nearly as much if he just wore a Globetrotters uniform. The amount of people wouldn’t be close. I mean, there have been a few white Globetrotters.

It’s the blackface/skin/paint/whatever you want to call it.

AG probably meant zero harm by it, but he’s gotta be smarter than that. Painting up like that has a long history that’s racist and highly offensive to a lot of black people. Even if you aren’t being blatantly racist with it, you should at least be a little bit sensitive to how it’s perceived.

I’m not saying his career should be over for this or anything close to that, but some of the comments on here are a tad overboard. He made a dumb decision. I think it’s OK to say that without a) crucifying him or b) saying he did absolutely nothing wrong and the PC World is just out to get him.

I don’t have an issue with people saying it was stupid or cringeworthy. I called it goofy myself. It was more in that people need to chill out on social media and not get “pissed off” about something that was goofy and stupid but still ultimately harmless. It’s like nothing with a tinge of racial substance can just be taken or dealt with at face value (like Griezeman’s tribute probably being a bad look) without people losing their minds and taking somewhere with much more vitriol.

It’s like the video of the little white girl sitting court side at an nba game and being amazed at the size of the players. Something that was completely harmless that would’ve been the reaction of 99% of kids of all races devolved into anger and bullshite. There were immediately tweets from progs saying she must not have seen black people before(not in an offhand joking way)white racists then talking shite about black people, black women talking about how she needs black dick(she was like 8) which then turned into people getting angry. People just need to calm the frick down.

dude it was amazing. I got brought there through a link and then started following the rabbit hole. After 5 mins of scrolling I realized why I use twitter for very specific news/sports only.

We live in a time where SJWs look for anything and everything that could be considered offensive. They want to be offended. I think they're miserable people that only feel good about themselves when they virtue signal. People need to just relax.

He clearly didn't mean anything hateful with his costume. I'm glad he isn't folding and apologizing for it.

I think it's funny. People can't joke anymore because heaven forbid we may offend someone. F that. I applaud his humor.

Other than the obvious (and very rare) instances when something like Griezmann’s costume is intended to be blatantly racist, the entire idea of the blackface thing being offensive to anyone is ridiculous. It’s so clear to me when the people that decide to be offended by harmless things like this goofy, but arguably tone-deaf (to be fair) stunt, their anger and vitriol is as disingenuous as the subsequent apologies and retractions we get from the other side. Neither side means it. Virtue signaling from the offended pussies and fake apologies to appease those pussies. I hate it.

I guess he should have known better but anyone who truly decides to take offense at such pointless things doesn’t deserve an apology, or any response for that matter. We are at such an odd place in our culture where people are willing to show so much comfortability (and strangely, eagerness) when throwing out such damaging labels/claims (racism, sexual misconduct, etc) without any hesitation whatsoever. I really do pray the day returns where people are secure enough with who they are and their intentions, unafraid to tell any and everyone who comes at them with bullshite like this to frick off.
