The only way to stop this barrage is to put pressure on them. The Argies don't have a great defense, if you put pressure on them Messi is playing defense instead of mouth raping Bocanegra. We have to just go for it and get back against their counters.

that's how we stood with spain and brazil 2 years ago. at this point 1-0 might as well be 100-0 unless we're hoping for a garbage goal to tie it up

Harkes literally just has a roster sheet in front of him and reads the player's name, number, and occasionally his age or club team. Then he might, MIGHT remember one game he watched where that particular player completed a pass or some other bullshite.
I loath John Harkes' commentary. Hell at least Alexi Lalas provides a bit of sarcasm in his broadcasts and T^2 tweets with Hendo during the match.

The one thing Harkes is right about is Jozy, he's isolated so its hard to be that critical, but when you get the ball, instead of just trying to run by 4 guys, hold it up and let other guys get forward.
I know everyone wants us to play better possession play, I do too. But we have limitations. Our defenders have shitty ball skills and just end up hoofing it when we play a team that presses high and all the good teams press high. Our off the ball movement is just not in the same stratosphere as teams like this. Guys have to work harder to find space to receive the ball. And that's something that's ingrained over time.
I'm not a huge Bob defender but its not all about him. Tonight is an absolutely glaring example of how our possession problems start at the back.

i completely agree he's not holding for shite, but i think he feels pressure to do SOMETHING since only landon and deuce are even trying to push forward on the counter
