The US is VERY lucky to be tied at half. I haven't seen a defense look this bad since the Saints at Seattle.

Our back line is in fricking shambles
It hasn't been good all tourney. We got away with playing some shite competition, and when they screwed up Howard was there to save the day.
The communication and positioning is complete crap. We get caught chasing and allowing balls to slip between our two Center Backs multiple times each and every game. It is infuriating.

Not that it was looking too good before Dolo went out.

I can't even see what formation we're trying to run cause we're spending so much time chasing their forwards but why the frick can we just not keep the ball and work it around for a little bit.
Their speed and deep passing ability is molesting our back line and with no adjustments, this might get ugly.

some illegals must have kidnapped our backline in Houston. Cause they don't look like the same players from the last few games. If our backline would've shown up Mexico would be down 2 nil at the half. I can't believe we let the momentum get away from us like that.
The goals were great, but to be honest it was a pretty disappointing half and to be honest Mexico still has the momentum on their side.

There is absolutely no leadership in the back. The US is getting exposed because this is what happens when you play utterly shitty teams throughout the tournament and then finally face a team with talent.
The US doesn't have the on the field leaders they need, and their coach is a bum. Landon was that leader during the WC, but seems to have taken less of a role.

so where are you from, and what team do you pull for?

quote:I think it's just that Mexico is the only team in CONCACAF that is more talented that the U.S. and they have shown it in the first half. The U.S. is probably going to need a lucky or counterattacking goal or two to have a chance of staying in this one.

Their speed makes up a lot of the difference. Our margin for error is much smaller than it was against our previous opponents.

they have the ability to exploit it with better players. Obviously we've all seen our deficiencies, but no one has really had the man power to exploit them.
What moves do we have to make to keep them from rampaging us?
