Spain lost a match and didn't destroy one of the world's soccer titans on their home soil. Much more impressive run.

Germany obviously deserves to be in the Finals. I'm not disputing that.

I think it is fair to say it is impressive now by lambasting Portugal and destroying Brazil to its core in Brazil.

Meh. They scored 8 total goals in 7 matches and lost to Switzerland during that World Cup.

LOL

Germany beats perhaps the greatest soccer country in the world 7-1 on their home soil in the semifinals.

Not impressed.

It's hard to see the Portugal match as overly impressive (though it still is of course. That's not a team you'd say beating 4-0 is unimpressive). I've been kind of meh on Germany until today, so I can sort of see where he's coming from. Plus, he's Argentina, so... Lol

Did you watch any of this world cup ???
Nothing but dumb and obviously bias comments from you. Did you wager a lot on Spain and bet heavily vs. Deutschland ??? You come off as VERY bitter !

Lol what? I'm not the only one who feels this way. It was completely bizarre how poorly Brazil played. Most analysts agree. Hey, hats off to Germany. They took advantage of the situation, but Brazil looked like North Korea out there today.

The team that lost to Switzerland, had a GD of +2 in the group stage, and scored 1 goal in every knockout round game? That is domination to you?

ETA: Just saw someone already pointed out the obvious.

On to my next beef, I'm tired of hearing how they destroyed Portugal like it was some amazing thing. They got a BS penalty, scored a good goal on a corner, and then played an hour against 10 men.

I am thinking that possession is his favorite stat.

No Silva and no Neymar made it almost inevitable. Plus, the Brazilians were playing on raw emotion early in the match. Not a good formula when playing the most clinical and organized team.

You're asking who is, at best, the 7th best team to ever win the World Cup?

Germany's win was ultra impressive (never saw so many goals so fast), but it was against a depleted Brazilian team.

Yeah, the 1-0 wins were not thrilling, but it felt like they would not lose. The loss to Switzerland was almost flukish. It would have been like the US beating Belgium. Spain dominated that game and every single one.

I am not usually a big defender of them, but peak Spain was very tough to beat.

4-0 over any team that has Ronaldo is massive. You cannot fault Germany for playing against a 10 man team.

You make up shite to talk up or down any win.

It was boring as frick. I still can't believe how negative and cynical Holland played that final.

Robben should have won that match.

I don't think anyone disagrees with this part. The part we differ on is the "dominance" of their WC run. Possession alone does not make a team dominant. Hell, Brazil had 51% of possession today.

Tough to beat and dominating are very different things.

Sure as an end result but Germany did nothing special that game from a playing standpoint which is what this thread is about.

I have only presented facts, sorry they didn't fit your narrative.
