wtffff, talk about out of no where.
looks like Phil's stint as care taker didn't last long.

I want to believe that they called the wrong one initially

Is phil on the management staff still? this just seems really awkward but i really think neville could turn into a great manager if that's what he wants to do.
logic tells me he'd be better than giggsy but i guess time will tell.

Gutted! This reminds me of when Pegguy Arphexad left for Coventry.

Has he done any coaching? i know he gave commentary for Sky sports n the such, but wow.
I don't get this move, nor did i get the Moyes move to Sociedad, it's just the differences in styles and approaches in the leagues, doesn't suit either of them.
A guy like Wenger, and his style of play, would thrive in Spain.

Zenit broke Valencia.

Neville seems more like an academy coach to me. Someone who really harps on fundamentals. But he definitely knows the game tactically, so I'm interested to see how he does. Like slick said though, Spain is an intriguing move for him

the good thing for him, is that Valencia, while being a farm team for top teams in Europe, they do develop talent and find young talent from around the world to bring in to their academy and youth team.
I always thought the first of these English guys would be coaching at a place like Malaga, where you have a nice population of Ex pats.

He has been an assistant with the English national team for a few years now.
