I can't see how the Bundesliga would draw nearly enough viewers to make the station viable. I'm not trying to knock on the league just an assessment of the market.

I'm sure if NBC, or whoever gets the rights, wanted him they could get him. If ESPN isn't showing any soccer he has no reason to stay there.

I'd bet he's only signed with ESPN through '14. Maybe '16. He'll probably get picked up by beIN or NBC.

NBC completely raped the Rugby World Cup. This is distressing.

ETA: And just wait for them to tape-delay a bunch of EPL matches.

As long as they show bigger matches live, and lesser matches on tape delay like FSC does now, and have an online package like FS does, I'll be fine with it. I can't see them giving EPL the full Olympics treatment. Surely they won't try to slate a Liverpool-Utd match for a prime-time tape delay. frick. That.

to be fair, the market would expand if shown in HD with english analysis. plus, people eat whatever fsc feeds them.

All they have is Notre Dame football, a few golf tournaments, Sunday Night Football, the NHL if it comes back on...EPL would be killer.

How can they afford EPL and possibly Big East too?

I think I feel most sorry for Rob Stone. Great TV guy finally got his big break and now FSC is on the ropes.

I want to know when Comcast will give us BeIN in English. Didn't they guarantee it by the Antigua match?

If beIn can wrangle up a minor EPL deal, I'm sure more cable providers will broadcast the channel. It's still only a four month old network in the US.

As for NBC, it's really working hard to find original live content for the NBC Sports Network, especially with the impending doom of the NHL. EPL will be shown live on NBCSN, and likely on tape delay on the main network, like Fox has done with its coverage lately.

NBC's MLS coverage has been the best thing to happen to the league in terms of broadcasting rights. NBC is even willing to pick up games not previously scheduled to air on NBCSN with the NHL lockout currently ongoing. That SKC vs Philly matchup was a Philly area Comcast broadcast, that NBC picked up to fill up airtime. Tomorrow NBCSN will air three MLS games, including Chris Wondolowski potentially breaking the single season goal scoring record.
