IMO ManU, Chelsea, Citeh are probably all going to be more likely in future years to continually make the Champions while Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, and a team like Everton will all compete for the last spot

People have say this about Arsenal every year. Yet we still are consistently top four. This season was an epic failure for the most part, but we have the most exciting young players in the EPL. As long as they stay together, we should be consistently top four. We need some more mettle, and maybe a change in mental philosophy by shedding some players, but we are better than people give us credit for.

What makes you say this?

I say it because lets be real, ManU isnt going to suck anytime soon, they have pretty much been in the top 3 the last 10 years or even longer

Chelsea despite only recently being consistently up there in the top 3 or 4 always seem to get players that fit the system, Drogba, Luiz, Essien, Obi Mikel, and a few others, they are getting old but still are competitors

Citeh i just feel will not stop spending the Big $$$$$ until they are top 3 which could be next year, they just need another midfielder, get along better as a team with chemistry and they have tooo many forwards including Adebayor who i dont see being back

Arsenal if they get rid of Fabregas it will hurt them for a little but they will definitely rebound

Liverpool is a good team but they need a few tweaks but like yall say the talent is there

Tottenham idk if they are guaranteed a top 4 spot but they have talent and will compete with the big boys (even though they play down to competition)

Everton by default, they are always the best team not named any of those I have just mentioned

I completely agree but the competition is getting better by the year, a small collapse like Arsenal and Tottenham or Liverpool last year can leave you out of the top 4 in the next few years

Not much seperates the top 7 teams, (except money maybe )

Every season is different, yet ManU and Arsenal are almost always top 4. Like since the mid-90's.
Liverpool is playing like a team with Suarez running the show and they have some great young talent and an owner who wants to win. Arsenal still has by far the youngest team in the EPL and they have all played a lot. Chelsea is going to have a lot of turnover next year so we shall see.

And City will have a completely new team again and send David Silva to Porto and Swagatelli to Ajax on loans.

Our collapse came in the window of a 15 or 16 game unbeaten streak in the league. If anything, this season showed that we lack mental resiliency. We lost to better teams in big competitions, and lost in the worst way possible in the Carling Cup Final.

There's no doubt Arsenal have extreme talent, they showed that against Barca the first leg of the CL, but just lack the mental prowess that comes with age. Wenger will have them back next season with a chip on their shoulder but how next season unfolds I don't think anyone will be able to predict. They will be up there top 3 bar any catastrophes.

He has done more with less and wasnt too far away from knocking off the best team in the world out of thr champions league. Some bad luck with injuries, but they def need to get some help on d. Van persie would be leading the epl in goals if he wasnt hurt at the beginning of the year.

Hes turned guys like clichy sagna and nasri into players. Fabregas has said he is like a second father to him. They would have to start finishing out of 4th for me to jump off the wenger bandwagon.

I dont believe this. Fabregas wouldnt have even helped today imo. Fab wasnt even dressed and they beat man u. So i dont think it will hurt them enough to finish out of top 4. Van persie is a great player. They need another striker and they can play van persie behind chamakh and whoever else. I would prefer to keep him, but money talks.

That's why y'all need to sell RvP.

you just won't let go of your pet theories, will you?

RvP is fine mentally, and more than adequate in his game. His strike rate is almost on par with Messi and Ronaldo at the moment.

Wilshere would be a better candidate to call out for maturity. But he's also young.

On a related note, RvP extended his Premier League record by scoring a goal in an 8th straight away match.

I don't have much else to say

I don't think Wilshire lacks mettle. A team of Wilshires wouldn't have fallen apart as Arsenal have. Or is "fallen apart" too strong a criticism of their recent form.

for a team that has been primed to be in first place for the last 4 months, I suppose we have relatively fallen apart. But having never fallen outside of the top 3, we're basically Olympian in our season-long stature.

Not too many of our offensive players can be critizied for our undoing, except maybe Arshavin and Chamakh. All of our disasters start at the back.

Cant sell him. They wont spend enough to replace him. He scored 16 league goals and 20 on the year. No world cup this summer, hopefully he gets fit and stays fit for next season.

You're right. You made your points, they were soundly rebutted, and everyone moved on except for you apparently.

Anyone who says that selling an attacking player will cure Arsenal's woes is crazy. The issue is clearly one of defensive concentration, which we lack compared to our title contender counterparts.

I don't think we *need* to sell a bunch of people this summer, but I think a lot will want out due to lack of PT. While Wenger has admitted he will strengthen the squad in certain areas this summer, I wouldn't expect him to totally trash what he's built. Will be interesting to see what happens in the transfer market with all of the contenders.
