In this cycle alone:

-first time not finishing in the Gold Cup top 3 since 2000
-first defeat at Guatemala since 1988

Hopefully, Tuesday won't be our first ever loss in Columbus

Where are the Jurgen supporters who lurk and downvote anti-Jurgen posts randomly? I want some of them to try and defend him. There's no reason to keep him. He's a total fraud.

They haven't been able to defend him since the Donovan decision. Their sole recourse is downvoting on tigerdroppings. As hendo said, it's Stockholm syndrome at this point.

ETA: here they come

I thought some of the blowback from the Donovan decision was overblown at the beginning, but I'm fully against him now. Being at the Georgia Dome for the Jamaica match broke me.

It's sad. They need to quit hiding so we can all debate. I seriously want to hear a defense for him because I don't think there is one anymore. I want to be enlightened if I'm missing something.

I can get over the meaningless gold cup

But last night puts me in the we need to change things up camp. He just isn't getting through to the players and his tactics are just awful. He's done some good but that has worn off. He's ending up wrong more than he is right. Time for move him into a technical development role and let someone else take over managing the national team.

I think there are three types of Jurgy supporters:

1. People who have bought the myth of Jurgy as Technical Director. We might not get results now, but we will in the future because Jurgy develops things the 'right way'

2. People who think of the manager as a recruiter. 'He's gotten us a bunch of Germericans! We'll be better now!'

3. People who think non-American=better at soccer.

Lol no.

Donovan had no business on that team and I'm glad he never was on that team. Guy is a total jerk off.

But no one can defend Jurgen at this point. I had his back big time until the Gold Cup disaster. Last night has proven that it's a sunken ship that's already half way down.

Sorry I can't take that money grab tournament seriously, bc it's played every two years and not every four. It's new format puts our best players at even more of a disadvantage now because they pretty much never get a summer off.

Sound reasoning.

2013, the tournament we won, was meaningless. The one we lost last year was not.

McCaigbro, if you genuinely think that Donovan did not deserve a spot on that team over Davis, Wondo, injured Johannsson, or Green, then I have nothing more to say to you.

The irony that Jurgen's two high-water marks as US manager (2013 Gold Cup & DosACero'ing Mexico to qualify for the WC) were both directly caused by LD.

Huh

They new format makes them both just as important that's why we had to play Mexico. That's why it's a fricking money grab and fricks over our best players who should be resting and then in pre season with their clubs

Either way, last year was not meaningless.

And even if it was, it's still no excuse for how bad we looked.

The tournament is a joke that's why I say it's meaningless

Make it every four years

I mean when we won it, it was not as important. We needed to win 2015 to get a spot in the confederations cup.

You ranting about concacaf and money grabs is like ranting about water being wet.

If we didn't win 2013 then we would have had to win 2015 just to get into the playoff match

Both carry as much weight now it's fricking dumb

At least the old format we could try out new players

How many coaches would Mexico have gone through with similar results?

We still did this in the last cycle.

2013 was very clearly a B squad.
