It’s like they purposely made the game worse all in the name of making there be more goals
You get punished for actually trying to play the sport how it really is played
Terrible defending
Passes always going to the wrong person or the power of the pass all wrong
Your players taking awful touches to lose the ball over and over causing turn overs
Dudes straight up missing the ball when making a pass or shot
AI playing with insane press and the constant fouls never getting called on tackles from behind leading to goals
All this had to be done on purpose

The scripting on goals at the end of each half is out of control too. Nothing but last minute goals every time.

If you’re going to go classic FIFA then IMO 17is the best combination of gameplay, real stadiums, and career mode. Pre frostbite engine stuff is really rough .

I swear I just had the game correct itself for a mistake in game play
I had one of those back and forth matches when the AI was pretty obvious when it would score.
I’m up 3-2, the AI shoots outside the 18 it hits my CBs foot and then goes off my other CBs thigh
His hand was on the side near his thigh
I was on replay and the ball never hit the hand it clearly hit the thigh and went past the hand
But regardless AI gets a pen
AI goes to shoot I try and make my keeper dive and he does not move and I’m like o frick
But in all this the AI takes the worst pen I’ve ever seen. It was a no power chip that goes probably 5 feet wide of the goal.

Bc the AI blocks a ton of shots with its arms
But I was up 2-1 at Norwich in the 93 mins
A loose ball was in the box with just my RB and CB, none of the computers players were there.
They both went to get it and it bounced off their arm LMAOO

I think I’ve gotten the hang of defending to a point, which makes it a lot more playable. I did just lose to Wolves in my Everton save in stoppage time on some of the biggest AI scripted cheese I’ve ever seen though. I just reset the game and simmed it over until I got the draw I deserved.

Got it for 20 bucks on Series X and glad I didn't spend a penny more. Can we please go back to like Fifa 15-17 gameplay??

Using OS Sliders + custom team tactics as well as learning how to defend manually helps a lot and to me is worth it for the CM improvements and new stadiums. I’ve tried going back to some of the old FIFAs but they all have problems you’ve forgotten about.
