He's got some French in him, so Cajun baw makes sense.

Announce Kean!

Josh Sargent has looked threatening, which is hard to be too upset about

Anddddd Kean is official!

I feel more more confident with the option of DCL and Kean.

Good move for everyone. Best of luck to him.

I'm starting to think this Zaha thing is happening.

Richy, Kean, and Zaha would be dangerous.

Oh, and we're loaning in Sidibe to cover RB. I guess that gives us time to see if Kenny can fill in for Coleman or find a replacement..

Zaha is like $60 mil, right?
If we sign him, Silva will have to change formations, or who would play solo up top?
Where would Gilyfi play?

Good problems, but Silva shows a stubborn reluctance to change strategy (zonal marking).

CP rejected a bid of 70m + 2 players for Zaha, apparently, and wants 100m for him.

Zaha just put in a transfer request after 48 hours of media saying he wasn't going to do it. Apparently says CP lied to him about dealing him for a reasonable bid.

Getting very interesting now.

Do we need him at that price?
That’s ludicrously high.

I think the price is insane but clearly Brands and Silva see him as some important fit I suppose.

I don't think we should approach 100m, but I guess I'm ok with getting it done at 80 if that's what the club wants. At this point I think there is some extra value in positioning EFC as a club that is willing to close out a move like this, just because it's been one of the larger potential moves in the final day of the window. Of course if we get it done and it's a bad fit then we look stupid, but pushing hard and paying top dollar for a player we really want and who may want the move himself is something of statement intent for the club, I think.

Richarlison was somewhat similar, there was a lot of scoffing at that fee and the doubters have largely been forced to eat it.

People didn't agree with his fee, but it looks good now. I just don't know if £80m for a 26yo RW is the best use of money. He's absolutely an upgrade over Walcott and Bernard, but it seems like their are cheaper options.

CB scares me. We can't expect much with Holgate and Gibson as our 3rd and 4th choice defenders. I don't see that working with injuries and suspensions.
