just got back from there, had a blast in A-dam, the women are fine as frick

on saturday got some day drinking in watch the British and Irish lions vs Australia match in a packed irish pub with brits, whichs seems to be where they always flock too when they travel

The guys next to us were in the british navy stationed in holland and their local team happens to be AZ, and they loved Jozy. The one dude said that Altidore, hes ia a proper black big fit strong on the ball, i almost spit my beer out laughing that he actually called him a proper black.

Yea everyone knows english probably b/c england is right fricking there that and its how europeans from different countries talk to each other. Red light district and all the bars in and around it are fun but its all tourist next time i go, im going to go to the local clubs and bars.

I met my dutch goddess but my dumb arse lost her at sensation white, she legitly just offered me mdma for free when she was dancing on me and talking to me, my dumbass didn't even get a # would have been nice to have a place to crash for free next time

Cool to hear, but odd that they would tell you that.

Sorry about your dick. Also, does the Army not piss test you guys?

Lastly, as a future doctor I strongly advise you against using MDMA/Ecstasy/whatever.

No Dandy, I just didn't like the insinuation of "you're young and you don't know any better."

SCH, whatever works for you, man. Just be careful with that stuff. E can have long lasting mental health effects, specifically depression. Just because something seems like a good idea doesn't mean that it is, ie eating McDonald's every day seems like a great idea until you get coronary heart disease.

But I figure most European countries speak a level of English because the only place you can find their native language is in that specific country. ie only 1 place you'll here Swedish, Dutch, Italian, etc.

Other than my professors and TAs, literally no one in Vienna spoke English. Going to the grocery was always a shite show.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah missed that.

As far as English goes, you should be ok in Germany, Holland, Belgium, and all nordic countries.

You can find some people who speak it ok in touristy cities in other countries.

Me and my gf stayed in a hotel in the red light district. It was on top of a whore house. The hotel was awesome though, which is the great thing about Amsterdam. Everywhere, including the red light district is clean, safe, and a lot of fun. One of my favorite places in Europe.

Is it weird for me to get so excited about possibly going to this match? I can't name one player on this team or pretty much any professional team across the globe, I really don't understand all the rules of soccer, and the game I'm going to is a friendly vs two teams that are historically mediocre at best but I've been finding myself watching ADO Den Haag highlights from last season and already plan to follow them throughout the season. My only regret is that if I get caught up in this European soccer thing is that seeing another ADO match again may be difficult.

They're really a lot of fun, even if its a shitty team. When I studied abroad in Vienna, we adopted Rapid Wien as our team. The year before, their fans invaded the pitch during a match so half of them were barred from attending preseason matches. Even with a stadium half full, following a team that isn't a historic powerhouse, we had an absolute blast. Watched them rock Valencia 4-1 and the place was ballistic even with only like 15k people there. You're going to have a great time.

ADO's max capacity is 15k but its their only pre-season game in their actual stadium. The rest they play in a much smaller venue so I'm definitely excited. From what I've read they have a historical 'friendship' with Swansea so maybe that will also help bring out the crowd. Look to get some ADO merch while I can.
