No worries, I already started looking at hostels a while back so I have an idea of what I'll be doing.
I don't really know anyone so I doubt I would even chance upon the opportunity to couch surf, but I have never turned down a free place to stay.

My wife would kill me. Some people from a damned message board that you don´t even know.....
Were it just me, I would. I´m that way. Really. Then again, mmmmmh.

I had a marvelous post written for you, that you would have found very enlightening and interesting.
I was worried it would be copied by a Bho or similar, so didn´t do it.
It was about that part of your blood which corresponds to a certain area of Spain, and some fascinating history concerning said area.
Anyway, we´ll get it across to you later, somehow.

Can't wait to read it. I'll let you know what my aunt says. She is in charge of keeping our family history together.

Another thread that lost its way...

Hey guys, headed to The Hague next week and plan on going to the ADO Den Haag friendly match vs Swansea City on the 13th. I tried buying tix online but that requires a Dutch bank account.
so I was wondering if I could get some advice.
1) it's a friendly and ADO isn't exactly the most supported team in the Netherlands but it is also the only preseason game at their main stadium so I guess what kind of turn out should I expect? Will I be able to get tix on game day at their box office you think?
2) from what I gathered most Dutch people can speak decent English so does anyone think a language barrier would get in the way of me getting a ticket?
3) their site also says I need to bring an ID, is this normal amog European soccer matches?

I wanted to buy tickets to an AZ/NEC game in Nijmegen and couldn't because of all the membership BS. I emailed their ticket office (saying I was a HUGE NEC fan
) and they hooked me up. I was there to see Jozy.
ETA: They all speak English, and very well. You shouldn't have problems, even if you want to call them.

In the .5-2 minute conversations that you will be having with service workers, you are going to leave under the impression that half of the people there speak English as their native language

Easiest country in Europe to visit if you don't know a foreign language. Probably because theirs is weird as hell.

Your surnames make perfect sense, as that´s nearly on the border with the province of Lugo (Galicia).

Yeah there was a lot of season ticket holder info on there but I'm hoping because its a friendly and they don't always sell out to capacity anyway that there will be plenty of tickets to pick up gameday.

Yeah Spanish seemed like a better investment to learn than Dutch. Have to retune my Spanish though , its hard to maintain it since I'm not in classes anymore.
But I figure most European countries speak a level of English because the only place you can find their native language is in that specific country. ie only 1 place you'll here Swedish, Dutch, Italian, etc.
