It's possible that he doesn't want to use the same formation every game.
Its more than possible, it's likely in my opinion.

a guy that admitted that he can't go 100% every day.
Again, then why is Pop playing Duncan, Parker, or Ginobili?
You do not need 100% every day. You just need max effort during the games.

but it is not like we are better than we were with Bob Bradley.
And regardless of what the accomplishments are, just watching us play under Jurgen and its obvious that we are a lot better. And hes getting young guys some valuable experience, which Bradley rarely did. And thats huge because it gets a lot of young players media attention and opportunities to show what they can do, and that trickles down to the youth leagues, which is what we need.
Yea he tinkered a good bit with diff lineups and formations and guys in diff spots... but thats not a bad thing at all. He wants to see who can play where and in what role and formation, and then put those guys in the best position to succeed. Thats huge... especially in a tournament like the World Cup where you will see different opponents with diff strengths.
quote:Because Duncan and Manu can still go 100% every time they step on the court and are still some of the best players in the World. Oh and Parker is only 31, which isnt really considered old by NBA standards... And in basketball you can sub as many guys in and out as you want... not the same with soccer.

Look im not saying Jurgen leaving LD off the roster was right or wrong... it is what it is. But thats our coach and thats the decision he went with. Pointless to not support him just because someone didnt make his roster, and that someone has publicly said he needs days off and cant go 100% like he used to and his body is wearing down. And also took a "sabbatical" from the National Team during qualifying for the World Cup, where his team needed him. It is what it is.
WOOOO World Cup is less than 20hours awayyy

If only he did not finish top 3 in the beeper test or play 82 minutes a couple nights later without even looking tired.
Plus, Johannsson is the perfect super sub if Landon was used as a second striker.

Cool, the US beat the best team in the world in 2009 in a somewhat meaningful tournament.
Results in friendlies are great, but in the end, beating Germany and Italy mean absolutely nothing.
The sabbatical should have been treated as a mental health break just like injured players have rehab and breaks from game time. I believed it was a poor lack of understanding of mental health from the coaching side, but I did understand having to earn his place back (just like any physically hurt player would). However, he proved that obviously.

I disagree. We beat Italy in Italy. I was at that game. It meant something.

He's on air and just refuted Klinsmann's claims about winning the World Cup.
He said, if our players think they can beat a favorite in Germany, why can't we see ourselves wining the whole thing.
So I actually just saw him give this quote. He gave a rah rah, "I agree with Alexi and the American Outlaws, I believe that we will win". Really Landy? Alexi said on air, 5 feet from the team, that he didn't think they would make it out of the group.
