Yeah same here... I hate his delivery with his comments... almost condescending and has the "im right and whatever you say isnt just wrong, but dumbest statement ever" attitude and its annoying.

And the funny thing is when he was criticizing Klinnsmann for his "USA cant win the World Cup" comments, on the US March to Brazil on ESPN, I distinctly remember Lalas saying, in front of the entire USA team, that they wont make it out of the group state.

His defense to that was, "I'm paid to make statements like that."

Just change the name on the back to Mix. Then you'll have to beat away the poon with a stick.

It is just the media making something out of nothing since there are no games to discuss. As the biggest Jurgen hater here, statements like this do nothing to fuel the fire or mean anything to me. I hate him because of his roster selection and how he has always put himself above the players. Also, I consider him a mediocre manager, and I think the USMNT can do better.

Of all the reasons that I have heard about disliking Klinsman this one has always made me chuckle. I get the other reasons but I just dont see this at all.

Did you already forget about Jeff Larentowicz How about publicly insulting Benny Feilhaber? Dude can be a huge dick to his players.

I agree... But so can Nick Saban, Greg Popovich, Belichick, Sean Payton, etc.

They aren't there to be the players friends. They are there to be the coach.

Meh, how is that putting himself above the players?

He may or may not be a dick about how he presents the message but he was right about Benny.

You want to disagree with side selection, tactics etc. I get that. You have to admit that your hate of klinsman is emotional at its core.

Yea it's hard to imagine from a pure results and readiness standpoint that we haven't progressed as much as could reasonably be expected. Is klinsman a perfect coach? Obviously not. I just don't think there's anyone who could've done THAT much better a job so far

I have been pretty pleased results wise, but it is not like we are better than we were with Bob Bradley. We all of this success in previous cycles. The only thing we have taken a big step forward in is in recruiting.

Also, his Feilhaber comment was an absolutely shitty thing to do. Only the Landon exclusion is more indefensible.

I got a Donovan away as well.

1. He should have been wearing that shirt in Brazil.

2. It's probably the last US shirt he'll wear.

No.... But there are bad coaches that are dicks as well.

My point is that he's not there to be buddy buddy with these players. He's there to be a coach, first and foremost. Not to make friends or make the fans and media happy. He's there to get results. Even if that means making unpopular moves or decisions. A coach can't worry if he hurts someone's feelings by cutting him or not playing him or calling him out.

I've been very pleased with the US team under Jurgen. And I'm PUMPED for the start of the World Cup...

Im kind of done with Lalas to be honest. Just about the only thing Im not looking forward to watching this World Cup is listening to Lalas before at half and after every match and the wind up show every night.

Lalas is Martin Tyler compared to fricking Townsend and Tyldesley.

Then take our best team and figure out a fricking formation before the end of the send-off series. The dude was experimenting was a diamond that worked for only one half.

This. All this Jurgen hate is ridiculous and solely because he left off Donovan, a guy that admitted that he can't go 100% every day.

It's possible that he doesn't want to use the same formation every game.
