My buddy just sent me this, and I found it interesting. We'll get a really good indication of this, true or not, once the season ends, and we get information from NBCSports and the various cable systems concerning which matches were watched on Saturday mornings.

I'm sure it helps that they've played a lot of games in the US.

The Drogba effect. I almost pulled for Chelsea growing up because of him.

I agree, they have come up to Seattle twice in the last couple of years and while they aren't my favorite team I don't hate them anymore, lol.

"An unrivaled history of success," explained one. "Because they are 'The good guys!'" exclaimed another. A third suggested "stylish football" with a broken-voiced sense of uncertainty that made it sound as though his statement ended with a question mark.

These people are not Chelsea fans whatsoever. They may own a shirt but they aren't fans.

The Drogba effect

Still remember the Saturday morning my 6 year old son said (as I'm flipping through the channels) "go back dad, that's Chelsea and Drogba."

Had no idea who Chelsea or Drogba were at the time.

That was my IRL reaction.

You'd think Rog would've found better interview subjects.
