Chelsea aka CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE 2011-2012 Season Thread

A new era opened, why not a new thread!
Game one showed us a few things. Torres may (just may) be back in form, the Blues need a midfielder and thirdly, we should get ready for a season full of 20+ shot attempts equaling little to no goals.
Capitalize on those attempts and continue the world class defending and we may just have trophy or three in our grasps.
Let's go Blues!

Modric. Just pay the man, Roman.

As a Lyon fan, I'm very used to this.

I think it's going to be a good season. I expect Torres to step up and continue to improve to his prior form. We have to have some creativity in the midfield though.

Secondly, the Modric deal is not Roman's fault. Tottenham don't want to give him up. Supposedly Chelsea is lining up cash with Kalou and Benayoun for Modric deal. We really need a creative MF.

I'd be so down. Where'd you hear this? first time I've heard that rumor.

08.31 The Guardian: Chelsea are considering offering Yossi Benayoun and Salomon Kalou as makeweights in a deal for Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.

+1
I'm not enamored with Modric, but we need a creator in the worst way. We have good defenders, a million strikers, and a bunch of midfielders that want to be strikers.
We just need someone to pass the ball.

I really like Kalou. His production hasn't been that great, but having a burner on the bench is always a positive, IMO.
ETA: IDGAF about Yossi. Didn't like his game before he got to Chelsea, uninspired by him since.

Seems to me as if this will open a spot for Sturridge. They don't seem to know what to do with him. If I had to keep one or the other. I'm keeping Sturridge.

Same. Also wanna see some Lukaku action in the future. Those two up top in a few years could be lethal.
If it means getting Modric, I'm ok parting ways with Kalou.

I saw some training footage from Cobham and Lukaku is HUGE. I'm really excited to see him, however the first I'll probably see him is against the USA.

Anyword on Modric being pulled from the Europa game? Supposedly an injury, but is it a Cesc injury?
