Whos arguing?

I know Dandylion was saying Terry is washed up in a recent thread. I'm sure I could find many other examples of jealous people grasping for on the field criticism but I don't have time to search for them all.

You're talking about being a consistent on the field leader. If we're talking about being an actual player, then yes, John Terry's abilities have diminished over the years (only natural).

Only about and because of his off field issues.

And Van Persie isn't a racist. I mean come on I defended Terry as a player and I get shite.

Arsenal would give anything to have a player of Terry's caliber and commitment to the club. As has been mentioned it's been a decade since Adams retired and they haven't had anything close since.

Whatever anybody wants to say about his "diminishing skills" John George Terry is still one of the top 5 center backs in the world and would be in any teams first XI.

It really is hard to say. While I understand the point of John Terry's loyalty (and don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting it), he has been fortunate to play for a very very good club throughout his entire career. I'm not saying he would have left if Chelsea weren't as good as they have been, but it's a lot easier to stick with a club where you have won 13 trophies and are on top wages.

Why do you think Fletcher, Giggs, Neville and Scholes have never moved? Or Casillas, Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes and Xavi have never moved?

Once you get to a level where you are winning silverware year in and year out and are on top wages, the club list you would want to move to becomes very very small.

It's the mid-table one-club men that really impress me. It's also the reason you see very very few of them.

Del Piero is what I'm talking about. "Un vero cavaliere non lascia mai una signora" (a true gentleman never leaves his lady), was what he said after Juventus got relegated to Serie B. 513 caps for that club and he never looked elsewhere.

That is fricking loyalty.

A "true" gentleman is what he said. Technically.
