Well, that's one way to make it to the World Cup.

As much as I want another World Cup in the USA, FIFA would do very well to select Canada as a host nation. They are huge sport nerds up there, and always support events very well.

And you know Americans and Mexicans would make the trip. Interesting bid since they don't have their own top flight league... Of course Canada already is and will be alot further along than America was in 94. MLS was a result of WC 94.

Definitely. I'd certainly head up there for games. Canada is an easy trip.
And you're right. Canada is already eons ahead of the USA in 1994.

And Canada is a hell of a lot further along than Qatar.

I would assume by this time the CFL will be all but gone, it's going to cost some money to improve those stadiums.

Why?

Is the CFL losing money or something?

They have been consolidating like crazy lately and are not making that much money.

I feel like this hurts our chances of getting if we are to make a bid. They have to come back to CONCACAF sooner or later, and we seemed like the obvious choice. If Canada has a good bid, they should have a good shot at getting it, since they haven't hosted. And if they were to get it, it would probably be a long time (maybe 20 more years) before we even get another shot at hosting.

They are close to building a new stadium in Halifax, Canada is already hosting the 2015 woman's world cup and just hosted the FIFA under 21s or whatever they are called...

Halifax is pissed they just being a host city so now they are talking new stadium...
