After the Gold Cup, he said our best possible team, at the time, was:

Steffen, Cannon, Brooks, Long, Yedlin, Pomykal, McKennie, Adams, Weah, Altidore, Pulisic.

With a bench of:

Horvath, Richards, Miazga, Boyd, Arriola, Zardes, Sargent

The important part
quote:

Working closely with Stewart and Berhalter, McBride’s primary areas of focus will be to oversee the development and management of the player pool, build and guide the culture within the Men’s National Team environment, manage relationships with clubs and represent the USMNT on the global stage. “I am incredibly honored to once again represent the National Team and the U.S. Soccer Federation,” McBride said. “It’s critically important for everyone to understand the privilege and pride that goes with wearing the jersey, and I’m excited about the opportunity to build relationships with players and clubs that align with the philosophy and values of U.S. Soccer. In this position, part of my job is to work alongside Gregg and his staff in fostering a growth mentality for the USMNT and to help Earnie ensure that this mindset is present in all of our Youth National Teams. I look forward to working with Earnie and Kate Markgraf to continue the progress we have made in the last two decades.”

Lets hope he takes his honesty about the USNT set up that he had on EPSN FC into this job.

Lol. Isn’t that Earnie’s fricking job? To me it just sounds like McBride will be a cheerleader, and a face the USMNT can trot out there when shite hits the fan so fricks like Earnie & Cordeiro can put even more space between themselves and the public.

I loved McBride as a player, but have no idea why this position exists.

Not since Earnie got promoted.

Earnie is overseeing ~20 teams now (USMNT, USBNTs, USWNT, USGNTs, USPNT, etc). Brian is the more hands on, day in day out guy for the USMNT now.

Ok. Now this has my attention.

McBride probably won’t be accused of ever being the smartest guy in the room, based on the few times I’ve seen him on espnfc, and in other interviews, BUT he does seems like a Guy that will call you on your shite, and make a tough decision. Hopefully his appointment is the beginning of the end for Gregggg.
