So what do you want to happen here? Do you want them to sell him now and maximize his value, or play him through half of the season and then see him in January? Or just let him leave on a free at the end of the season?

Sell him only if a reasonable offer comes from a team outside of England otherwise stick his arse in the reserves and let him waste one of few prime years he has left. We stood by him through his countless injuries and this is the thanks he shows the club. Its time our club shows some balls and quits giving into every player's demands. I mean screw it, what are we losing about 12 mill. There is a good chance they wouldn't put that directly into transfer funds anyway. We need to change the whole damn mentality of the club and quit letting the players run it.

I think they have to sell him now... The supporters will not let him live it down him if he stays...

Get something for him now... Whats he worth at 28 with a year left £20-25mm??

My vote is to Juventus! I agree, out of England...

As of right now 15 mill seems to be the most we will get for a soon to be 29 year old.

So if Chelsea offered 25 and next best offer was 15, which one are you taking?

I'm pretty sure he wants to go to City. Rumors are they are going to pay him £250,000 a week. Van Persie's ego is thus soothed, which has seemingly grown larger, perhaps due to his interaction with the Dutch National Team.

If he wants city, we should sell him to them rather than letting them sign him fo' free after this season.

When are we going to stop letting City bully us? He wants to go to City, fine let him spend a year in the reserves then he can go next year on a free. Whats more important: 15 mill that we probably wont spend or stopping the sad cycle of us getting pushed into a corner by a combination of our players and which ever team wants them. If he wants to play outside of England then fine. If not then enjoy wasting a year on the bench. He is under contract so we have the right to do as we please. We are no longer a club but some AAA affiliate here to feed City and other teams drunk with money.

You really think City would stick him in the reserves? Last year's top scorer in the EPL?

EDIT: Never mind, you're talking about Arsenal putting him in reserves, aren't you?

There are rumors that SAF may try to sign RvP. I don't know how well Rooney and RvP would play together. Probably just a rumor to sell newspapers as RvP is soon to be 29 and over United's self imposed age limit for new, incoming players.
