Everton Football Club can confirm that Sam Allardyce has left his role as manager.

Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale said: “On behalf of the Chairman, Board of Directors and Mr Moshiri, I’d like to thank Sam for the job he has done at Everton over the last seven months. Sam was brought in at a challenging time last season to provide us with some stability and we are grateful to him for doing that.

“However, we have made the decision that, as part of our longer-term plan, we will be appointing a new manager this summer and will be commencing this process immediately. Again, we’d like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sam for his work with us over the last few months and wish him well for the future.”

What a disaster that was.

(Fit-wise. The results were fine.)

ETA: Moyes has left West Ham, too. Black Wednesday.

He’s heavy, but there is no way he weighs 6 million pounds.

Can't to see what team brings Allardyce in as a desperation move to avoid relegation next season.

Big Sam, truly the "Interim Ed" of the EPL. At least this time my team avoided bringing him in full time.

Ranieri is done at Nantes. I'd say come to Zenit but Mancini was a disaster and Criscito just left too.

"It seemed to be done and dusted through the media," he told Talksport. "I think it was out there in the open for a couple of days. That leaves you with the certainty of what was going to happen." Allardyce was heavily criticised by Everton fans for the team's style of play under him, but he feels the dissenting voices drowned out those who supported him. "I think there were certainly more Everton fans who were happy with what we were doing and going in the right direction than the ones that weren't," he said. "Those who show discontent are the ones who are more open and vocal about it. I would say most of them didn't want me out."

Because Zenit was paying Mancini out the arse. He took a 13 million dollar loss to join Italy.
