I'm thinking 3 goals tops. Messi could score about 2 a game if he were on Man U. Freddy is better than him but not twice as good. 4 goals is pushing it just a bit.

Probably because Torres has done slightly more than Adu in a US jersey, and that's saying something because Jose Torres has been wildly inconsistant for the USMNT.
Adu had one nice pass in the 2011 Gold Cup semifinal against big bad Panama.
AND he scored against Grenada in the 2009 Gold Cup.

He showed more in twenty minutes against Mexico in the final than JFT has in all his time put together.
He's been our most dynamic player multiple times.
He's not consistent, and I'm not saying he deserves a call up, but its revisionist history to say he hasn't done more than JFT, who has done zero.

I think Freddy deserves another shot. I wouldn't bet big money on him making the next WC squad though.
