How big of a deal is it with Villa being relegated?

I was looking back on some PL history and clicking various clubs. Villa have been around in the PL as long as anyone. 141 years ago the club was founded

Are there better stories about relegation than this?

Newcastle going down last time around was a pretty big deal.

I have no love for Villa, but knowing this makes it a sad thing.

I started following the EPL in the 90s or so.

Amazing how many teams are now just memories. Bolton, Blackburn, Charlton, Portsmouth.

It should also be noted that on Wiki Aston Villa has already changed their info to them being in the Championship.

I mean quick

As a Villa supporter, one of my friends is from Birmingham (UK, not Al), I think it's a big deal.

This is a terrible season to get demoted since a new money deal deal is in the works for EPL teams. Additionally, Villa really looks mismanaged and has been flirting with relegation for several years now. It wouldn't be as bad if they could make their way up again next season -- but there is no reason to expect that they won't just continue to sink.

Villa's overall play has been really bad the last few seasons.

Never a supporter, but it's a really big loss.
