We’ve got 18 games left and we’re 6 pts up on City who are in 6th place.

We are going to be in a fight for top 4

We don’t have a long range threat, we don’t have a finisher, and the defense has been lacking concentration at the worse times.

Our only hope is to pass it into the net or score from set pieces.

We need Saka back AND they have to add several attackers in the window

23 shots 3 on target.

Newcastle had 7 shots 4 on target two goals.

We had 11 corners to their 1.

And the bench had, jesus, jorginho, calafiori, kiwior, merino, sterling.

All players Mikel brought in, all players that start some games.

Cant say we didnt have a strong team.

People will bash Arteta for that loss, but I 100% put that loss on the players. I mean how glaring is it that we need to sign a striker. 3.76xG and can't score 1 goal?

Our strongest 11 arguably, except Saka ofcourse, and we can't score at home in a cup semifinal. Tough one today for sure.

FA Cup 3rd Rd on Sunday. United playing terribly, Arteta feeling the pressure. Sunday is going to be cancerous to watch.

Well thats on Arteta isnt it?

Maybe this is why Edu is gone. They thought the recruitment hasnt been good enough?

Idk, but the players dont buy the players and pick the squads.

The manager does.

Im a fan of Skip Bertman. "Its not your fault you suck, its my fault I recruited you."

And thats a championship coach.

I don’t know if it was Edu or Arteta, but for a Artetas sake, I hope it was Edu: The roster construction now is worse than it was 2 years ago.

There’s like maybe 5 teams in the PL that have a worse collection of attacking talent, and that includes Saka.

It’s downright embarrasing

To add to that: Not a single one of our summer transfers (included the cup tied GK loan) saw that pitch today. So basically our normal 11 minus Saka.

I look forward to Arseblog bonus rating on the players ratings.

This was today’s

quote:

Bonus 10/10: Great to have Raheem Sterling back and for the manager to put him on when we need a goal ... oh ...

This was for Gabriel.

quote:

Ended up playing as a centre-forward and a wide man, a confused end to the game from us

How is this not on the manager if the players have no real plan?

fricking tragic all the way around.

Declan Rice: 5 chances created
Odegaard: 0

Odegaard needs to get his shite together. He’s fine when he’s producing assists and banging them in on cutbacks, if he’s not doing those things he just clogs up space because he can’t carry the ball and he’s unbelievably 1 footed.

Odegaard was our worst player.

Rice worked hard, got that free kick outside the box and odegaard curls the ball behind our entire line of players and no one even has a chance on it.

I would agree with you that it is mainly Arteta's fault if we really knew what went on behind the scenes and he was the one who was fully committed to the "We have enough in attack skit" all by himself every year. It really doesn't make sense to not buy strikers when in the last 5 windows we legit could have won serious silverware if we went all out and got the right players in.

Arteta has to be begging for strikers right? I mean he is a David Moyes prodigy and loves a stud back line and CDM's, which we have and is why we have been in every game, but how many missed chances can he see from these players every week, and in every big game for that matter, and not beg for Isak or Nico Williams everyday on the phone to the Kronkes.

Still no reason for us to constantly play terrorist ball.

Both of our wingers are required to play wingback, which is one of the many reasons why we are one of the worst transition teams in Europe

He supposedly wants Nico but that would be a summer signing.

But let’s say we don’t do anything this window and then do the Nico thing. That’s more on the club picking when to pull the trigger on a player. He has a buyout clause, pay it or don’t I guess wouldn’t be up to Artera but the board or whoever greenlights the deals.

On the flip side though, they may have an overall budget, and he gets to choose and prioritize who that money is spent on. So if you buy your defender and midfielder, that’s taking up a chunk of your budget. Then you go for a sterling loan to have some cover. That’s possible just how he prioritized the window.

And those three signings never got off the bench in this game.

That’s extremely frustrating.

Time for them to quit waffling on shite.

They need to show up with RC money and get players. The team needs it, surely they can see that

We’ve got a guy in Trossard who is a pretty good goal poacher that should be coming off the bench and starting cup games against Bolton, not playing full PL games every week

If they don’t add anything this window they aren’t a serious club

Well there is a bit of a conspiracy about the exchange rate being why you would wait on deals until the summer. So arsenal can save pocket change.

I wouldn’t put it past us, but I also don’t know how often this is thought about with clubs in general.

But he also got the money for havertz and for rice. So it’s not like he hasn’t made big money signings.

I’m not accusing them of not spending, but in 5 years we’ve only spent 50M on attackers: Jesus & Trossard
