I’m indifferent on Viktor. Would rather Ekitike or Sesko.

Oh well. Sign Rodrygo, Eze, & Madueke and I’m good with whoever for CF

I would have preferred Sesko but looks like RB wouldn’t accept anything under 90 million and that’s way too much for a project player

I agree with the decision on not bowing down and paying the 90 for Sesko.

I’m just not entirely sold on Gyorkeres unless we move to be a more transition based team. Hes not real good at using his head, and he takes forever to get shots off in the box, which we need quick shots and headers from our CF with our “settled offense”

I have to think Madueke is insulation for Trossard possibly leaving.

I think we need to get rid of Trossard now especially if Rodrygo and Madueke come. Tho I'm not against losing him for free. He's got major random Wiltort type goal to win the league vibes.

Noni would be primarily a backup to Saka.

If they move forward with Rodrygo, Eze, and Noni (and sell Trossard the front 4 including AM spot goes from:

Martinelli, Trossard to Rodrygo/Martinelli/Noni

Kai/Merino to Kai/Gyorkeres

Saka/Nwaneri to Saka/Noni/Rodrygo

Ode/Nwaneri to Ode/Eze/Nwaneri

And Rodrygo/Martinelli/Noni can all play RW/LW and Martinelli can play centrally as well.

The attacking depth and skill sets would be 10x what it was last year and gives you insulation from injuries. Also allows squad planning without injury prone Jesus, and can probably sell him in the winter window

We are actually bad at converting our transitions though.

I’ve pointed out if you watch our season highlights Havertz and martinelli just miss most of their chances.

Gyokeres will fix that. I can’t wait to see odegaard sliding him passes like he does haaland.

And if we sign Eze that’s another player that plays in a team that scores in transition.

In Gyokeres highlights he has scored headed goals. And adding Zubi we actually added another player that wins balls in the air.

quote:

Zubimendi is monstrous in the air and since making his debut for La Real six seasons ago, has the best success rate of any midfielder in LaLiga to contest 250 or more aerial duels (67%).

I’m intrigued because all of the players we are targeting excel in transitions, and it’s one of the few things this club suck at, another one being ball striking, and the proposed targets are all good at that as well

There is no doubt Big Vic is an excellent ball striker

The guy just has a desire to score.

People mention the number of penalties he’s scored as a bad thing. He scores them because he just smashes them into the net. No nonsense, no silly run up. Just hits hard and the keeper can’t save it.

I see that as a strength of a goal scorer with composure. Creating chances isn't our issue, it's finishing them off that's been the issue.

CL goals from this season. Last goal is actually Sesko losing the ball and Gyokeres scoring on a counter.

Norgaard should be announced this week.

Thought this video was decent. Shows how we don’t take the space given to us at times and how Goykeres could solve that.

Biggest differences guys line Zubi/Norgaard and Eze can make on this team, probably Gyorkeres too his ball progression through the middle of the pitch.

We’ve basically stopped doing it since 22-23 season and it’s killed off the transition game completely just about. We had the losing middle field ball progression in the Prem last year. Some of it was a necessity after 22-23 because it led to turnovers and our transition defense wasn’t very good.

I feel the backline & midfielders are a good bit better at defending transitions now that Partey is gone, we need to go back to being a more dynamic team on the break

We’ve started club to club talks with Chelsea over Madueke. Hopefully we don’t go over 40 or 45 for a fee.

Backup for Saka and can also play LW
