I'm pretty excited. I think we're going to play more open and direct this season. wenger mentioned how we didn't score enough goals to be elite (in large part because of injury, but still). özil having more toys and us having frankly absurd depth (at least for us) that should withstand even the most ridiculous injury barrage (KNOCK ON WOOD)...I'm so excited. really CB is the only place we're worryingly light. I wonder if they're giving miquel and ayaji a few more weeks to earn a spot before reinforcing there. pleguezelo (sp?) isn't physically ready.

In league games but he played 40 plus games for Real each season except this past one, where he had the ACL tear. I'm not too worried about his injury record.
Good point.

It seems like we keep hoping each year that Giroud's finishing will improve

Sanchez has an absurdly high conversion rate. something like 30%. if he stays healthy and keeps near that rate, he's got a chance to lead the PL in goals scored.

We are all so paranoid about health.
What's our depth looking like?
GK: Scez, Ospina
RB: Debuchy, Jenks
RCB: Per, TV
LCB: Kosc, TV
LB: Gibbs, Monreal
DM: Arteta, Flamini, Diaby?
CM: Ramsey, Jack, Ox, Diaby
LW: Santi, Podolski/Ox
CAM: Ozil, Rosicky, Ox/Jack/Santi
RW: Theo/Sanchez, Ox, Serge
ST: Giroud/Sanchez, Theo, Sanogo
I really like that. Add a DM and a CB or secure TV5, and we can withstand our normal injury quota, even a bad one, knock on wood.
ETA: And we're versatile. Jack, Ramsey, Ox can all play virtually anywhere in midfield, Theo and Sanchez can play central or wide, etc.
My hopes are high.

This will be the second off season, make it sound Luke he's been here for years. Is say he's improved from year to the next already. Plus I loved he's tenacity in the world cup, being physical and pushing defenders around.

I'm the biggest France homer there is but he looked like hot garbage in the Germany game. I guess that's why he wasn't a consistent starter despite Benzema being best out wide and France having no other hold up striker.

i didn't think he looked bad v. Germany. plus he created/provided what could have/should have been the tying goal in the final seconds.

quote:sorry, he just looked lazy and his touch was really off. He lost just about every ball played over the top to him. I still think he's a good hold up man for us but I really hope his finishing improves. Hopefully us having more runners and him being less pressured due to the space said runners open up will translate to better finishing this season.

he played five minutes and set up a great chance to send it to ET. I'm confused how you think he was bad in that game. maybe you're confusing it with the prior match?

I just meant he was always chasing down the play, pushing back against CBS. That's something we've lacked before he came to arsenal. Yeah at times he's a bit ogreish but effort he doesn't lack.

I'm pretty sure his book is the one that rips RVP for being a massive tool in the locker room.

I've been binge watching Alexis videos on youtube and he will fit seamlessly into our style of play.
He was the 4th in goal scoring in La Liga last season behind Ronaldo, Messi and Costa. It is like the Ozil signing again.
He loves to run and is so technically gifted. I can't wait for August 16th.
