We really need to rotate more. We have a lot of component midfielders that can play a lot of positions, so having some variety in our formation and personal would be excellent.

Yeah I guess he's assured more playing time there.

I still like this squad regardless. We'll just have to rely on young players and hope we don't have an injury crisis.

if he loves Germany that much, nothing we can really do. considering he's on 60k/week according to Honigstein, seems like we could entice him with £££ and the CL.

We are still a deep squad. But we really could use a bit of luck that's been missing ever since Eduardo's injury.

I'm not sure I'd say we're deep. particularly on the back line. we have kos, per, baccy, jenks, and gibbs right now. tv5 and monreal won't be back until October at the earliest. an early injury to one of those five would be crushing.

MF, we can rotate some with Rambo/Jack/Arteta and maybe Ox in the back two positions. santi and rosicky at the no. 10 is decent depth.

ox will probably back up poldi and theo on the wings. gnabry and ryo by default. I'd honestly rather throw sanogo out there if giroud is out than poldi and maybe even theo.

pretty much, we are an injury or two from relying on gnabry, sanogo, ryo and reserve players in defense which is kind of scary. we've got a good 16-17. could definitely use more.

Sky now reporting we've bid £17.2m on Goose and that talks are in the advanced stages. could be the Wolfsburg report was an attempt to get us to give a higher salary. who knows. hope we can land him.

So, why does he want to leave the treble winning club? Will he not be getting playing time because of Martinez?

more because of thiago.

apparently us signing Perez is contingent on him getting a work permit. if that's true, AW must think he can contribute this year, or at least is close enough to keep under closer eye. if he was just a prospect seems like we wouldn't care about having to loan him out.

Well he doesn't actually want to leave. He was basically told that he was going to be leaving this summer. It was kind of a perfect storm regarding him actually leaving. Playin in the WC in Brazil for Brazil means a lot to him and he likely wouldn't have gotten the playing time required to be at the top of his game for next summer. Pep seems pretty insistent on not playing an actual DM in the one DM spot on the team, I don't think the squad additions had much to do with it.

true. he might have gotten a few more games though with rotation if thiago hadn't been signed. might not have really mattered though. it does seem like he really loves Bayern, just is surplus to pep's requirements.

He certainly would've gotten a few more games, but I don't think it was the make or break line. By the end of the season, Jupp had effectively phased him out as well, so I don't think anyone or thing in particular is to blame. Only a certain amount of people can be on the field at one time, Goose knows that. But as Ive said before, he will look back on his time at Bayern very proudly. He definitely contributed in his 3ish seasons with the club, as well as became a much more complete player.
